Nigeria's Tobi Amusan Broke The World Record Twice In One Night by Bamibor(op): 3:02am On Jul 25, 2022
Nigeria's in-form sprinter, Tobi Amusan has completed an incredible double by breaking the world record for the 100m women's hurdle and also winning a gold medal at the ongoing world Athletics Championship, Eugene, Oregon.

The young Nigerian, who had initially broken the world record in the semi final by recording a time of 12.12 seconds, won the final in a time of 12.06 swcobds to crown an amazing evening at the WACH.

She would have recorded two world records in One Night had the original time achieved in for her final race(12.06 secs) not been adjusted for wind direction.

All the same, it was an incredible night for the Nigerian athlete who will take home a prize of $100,000 for breaking the world record in the semi final race.

They just cited some shady technicality about wind reading to rob her of her second world record time.

The verdict us that a record time of 12.12 secs, is maintained for her.

Yeah, the time for her final race, 12 06 secs, was eventually adjusted due to wind direction.

These people train on their own and literally self fund to get in to competition shape.

How did Nigeria help her?

She’s simply unfortunate to be born to Nigerian parents. Because I’m certain she would have gone farther if she wasn’t from this hellhole of a country.

So why is the major Yoruba city a shithole of global reject for scumbags despite the rich legacy of Awolowo and Jakandehuh
Why did we allow a rogue like Thiefnuibu to hold us hostage for over two decades of looting recklessly?

Lagos, the commercial hub of Nigeria, has been ranking as one of the worst places to live in the world for the nine straight years, a BusinessDay analysis shows.

Data from the 2019 Global Liveability Index published by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), the world’s leader in global business intelligence, shows the city has been within the range of 137th-139th position out of a total of 140 cities in the world from year 2011-2019.

A 45-year-old resident and father of three, Mr.Fatai Lamide told PUNCH HealthWise that no building in the community has toilet facilities.

The Oyo State-born mechanic said, “We don’t have toilet in this area, including our compound. This canal that you see serves as toilet to all of us living in this area. We defecate inside nylon and throw it inside the canal.

“For people that don’t want to use nylon, they have a special bucket that they use after which they pour it inside the canal too.

This is how it works....

Whenever an athlete participates in track and field events, including long jump and Triple jump, the wind is always recorded. There is an advantage the wind gives so the allowable tailwind should not be above +2m/s.

So, if you win and the wind measured during that race exceeds 2m/s, you are given the gold but the record is not entered.

In her first race, she ran 12.40s (+1.5m/s) to smash the African Record..

She ran 12.12 (+0.9m/s), to smash the World Record.
She ran 12.06 (+2.5m/s), not recorded.

Save for the long-distance races, javelin, hammer, discus....all other track and field events abide by that rule.
