I Love arguments that is based on facts. I have lived in Russia Before and Ukraine, To pursue development in certain fields, you need funds, and funds are one of problems of Russia. Unlike US and China for now.

Most of the people arguing blindly here does not even know that Private indigenous companies in Russia seek and acquire loans from the west to execute projects.

It's one thing to have An idea, it's another thing to secure the funds to develop and build it.

Yh, a valid argument; but Russia always have funds for military, why did you think that they made the former defense minister the one in charge??...... And all of a sudden he came and told putin that they are leaving the ISS, he didn't even seek his opinion; just wanted to him to know. That's to say that there's a lot going under the scenes and Russia has seen the importance of the space industry. For funding in Russia, Russian main problem is their economy since soviet times. Analysis dictates that war profits them very well, now Russia needs money and stable economy; Putin knew the end-game will results in a huge amount of sanctions that's why he pegged his currency to gold, no one knows putin endgame for now. We keep watching, to see it's results; but what is clear is that Putin is making a statement to the West, he is old (70 something) and this is his last chance.

Yes, Lets assume they are planning to build their own international space station and They have the funds to, Hope you know those sanctions will render them not able to, because it will deny the access to some Very important components they will use for building it. Because me and you know that a lot of components that will be used are made outside Russia.

We watch, and who provides the raw materials; Russia..... West are as dependent on Russia, as Russia are dependent on them. Russia maybe forced to start some RD too, they did it before when their economy was a closed one. All are just assumptions, maybe it will
very drastic for them but time will tell

Yep, But the facts is now that, for Russia to develope or get their own space station with the current sanctions is Very difficult.

This is when watch then, if they can overcome the situation; west grapple on them will significantly lessen. Even before then their components for military installation according to my research were sometimes bugged in a way due to political pressures on the private companies.
