David Umahi, governor of Ebonyi, has won the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election rerun for Ebonyi south senatorial district.

Emmanuel Adebayo, leader of APC’s national committee of the primary, declared the governor winner at the end of the exercise which held at Afikpo north LG council headquarters.

Adebayo announced that the governor won the contest with 250 votes while Austin, his brother — who had earlier withdrawn from the race — polled 10 votes.

“Mrs Elizabeth Chukwu polled five votes; Mrs Magareth Ibiam got three votes, while Mrs Ann Agom-Eze scored zero votes,” Adebayo said.

“Total number of votes cast were 275; total valid votes were 268, while invalid votes were seven.”

Umahi, in his acceptance speech, commended the committee for conducting a peaceful and credible primary election, noting that the APC has transparency and credibility as its watchwords.

“APC is rooted in Ebonyi and will surely sweep the electoral stakes at the 2023 general elections,” Umahi said.

On July 22, a federal high court in Abakaliki dismissed a suit filed by Umahi asking the court to recognise him as the APC candidate for the senatorial district.

However, the court recognised Agom-Eze, who came second in the May 28 senatorial primary for Ebonyi south, but ordered a re-run of the election within 14 days.

APGA are in control of Anambra, former governor Obiano asked Anambra citizens to support PMB during 2019 election because of his rifft with Peter Obi, on election PMB got 33,293 , while PDP Obi as vp got 524 738, same will happen in Ebonyi

he never held two primary forms at same time in his two hands. He lost the presidential primaries and it was over before he obtained form for the senatorial. His victory is in order especially this rerun observed by INEC.

No. he sacrificed it for Umahi. Abuja won’t have Dave put his brother in FG appointment slot and have Dave as Ebonyi south senator candidate that is under contention. He has to sacrifice one position for the other to go to those he dislodged from senatorial position. His brother paid the price but governor dave will compensate him handsomely

He never ordered the APGA structure to work for Buhari. Even if he had done so, it wouldn’t matter much because Obi is from Anambra.

Eboyin is a different kettle of fish entirely. APC is the party in power and the governor is not just publicly supporting Tinubu, he’s also on the ballot on the same day the presidential election will be conducted. It’s a do or die for him. In addition, APC is on full control of all the organs of government in the state. Councilors, supervisors, Chairmen, state assembly members, state appointees, governor, national assemble members and federal appointees. In addition, there is no Ebonyi son on the party. I’m projecting nothing less than 40% of total vote cast for APC as far as the presidential election is concerned.
