The Federal Government of Nigeria on Monday said it has not removed subsidies on the Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), otherwise known as petrol.

Timipre Sylva, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, stated this while speaking with newsmen in Abuja.

Sylva spoke on the sidelines of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) stakeholders’ consultation forum on regulations.

The minister was reacting to the increase in pump price of petroleum by marketers from N165 per litre to N169, N184 and N218 per litre, depending on the area in the nation’s capital and other states.

He said, “I can tell you authoritatively, we have not deregulated. The government is still subsidising petrol prices. If there are increases in price, it’s not from the government.

“It is probably from the marketers, but of course, I will talk to the authorities to ensure that they actually regulate the price. This isn’t from the government, we’ve not deregulated.

“But a lot is going on to ensure that the queues end. As of yesterday, I noticed that the queues in Abuja are easing off.”

Recall that there was fuel scarcity recently in Abuja and several other cities across the country.

Remove Subsidy now and that would be the Final nail in the APC coffin.

After criticizing Jonathan's subsidy program, these guys are still romancing with the idea.

Even Buhari the Dullard claimed that there was nothing like subsidy during Jonathan's Government....

If subsidy is very bad, they should try and remove it before the next election and see what will happen.

Enough is Enough:. APC must Go

How many times will these corrupt rogues and liars remove this subsidy that Thiefnuibu's Bubu said was a fraud prior to being allowed into Aso Rock?
Do they take 200 million Nigerians as mumu-nis or what

BeeBeeOoh:
The Federal Government said the deregulation of the downstream sector and eventual elimination of the petroleum products subsidy has removed its monthly burden of N15.4billion in 2016.

The Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo who spoke at the Ministry of Petroleum Resources (MPR) year-end scorecard presentation and Joint Venture (JV) cash call signing in Abuja yesterday it would fetch about $15billion worth of investments for the oil and gas sector.

Shame on all who support bad governance because of any bias other than performance!
How can the minister who is supposed to ensure that the regulated petroleum products are in deed regulated because he knows the effect of unofficial deregulation of the petroleum products (by marketers) because the prices of the products determine market prices (economy) and affect virtually every facet of our national life and he is making statements "probably...". This responsibility is for himself (Minister of state) and the Minister of Petroleum. If he as minister of state petroleum isn't sure, or hasn't investigated, he should confer with his senior minister before coming out to give statements saying the reason is "probably...", long after the prices of the products are varied by everyone who desires to.
We have many hypocrites and the price of it is suffering for majority of the people, and if nothing is done we'll birth a shameful country our generations unborn will inherit.
The best legacy any generation can leave behind is a better country with improved systems, can we say the same with this country and generation?
No matter how stable you are, you can't predict the stability of your fourth or fifth generation, but leaving behind a working system is somewhat a better guaranty of cushion of many eventualities, reason we all enjoy countries where their forefathers built sustainable systems.
Keep encouraging bad governance because of ethnicity and religion, sooner or later we'll all realize what kind of country we are building and leaving behind for our unborn, and by then it's too late!

If it is not from the Government, then it's from who?
So the Marketers are now selling as they wish and there's no petroleum monitoring department to regulate the Marketers prices?

This APC government is shameless, they are not tired of lies.

Vickram:
May this evil government don't happen to us again .

But Thiefnuibu is cummin next year to continue the evil of his Bubu.

LieDetector:
President Muhammadu Buhari has urged Nigerians to ensure continuity of his regime by voting for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 presidential election.

“The forthcoming general elections will provide us with the opportunity to convince the electorate of the need for continuity to enable our party to consolidate on our achievements in the last 7 years,” Mr Buhari said.

The president, according to a statement by his spokesperson Femi Adesina on Friday, disclosed this while receiving a delegation from Nasarawa State.
“The Government and people of Nasarawa State, as usual, have a great role to play in returning our party to governance in the 2023 elections, in order to create a path for greater socio-economic growth and development.

“This is not only important for Nigeria alone but also for the West African Sub-Region,” the president was further quoted as saying.

Mr Buhari assumed office in 2015, promising to tackle corruption, fight insecurity and pursue economic prosperity for every Nigerian.

However, since he assumed office, insecurity has heightened as Boko Haram insurgents and rampaging bandits continue to kill as well as kidnap for ransom.

Earlier in the month, Boko Haram seized the Kuje prison in the Federal Capital Territory, freeing their members and other hardened criminals into the capital on the same day Mr Buhari’s advance convoy was attacked in Katsina.

Lamenting heightened insecurity, his spokesperson recently admitted that “life is nasty, brutish and nasty” under Mr Buhari’s regime.

In 2018, Nigeria displaced India to become the world’s poverty capital, according to a report by Brookings Institution, with the country’s total public debt hitting a whopping N41.60 trillion under the watch of the Buhari-led regime, according to the Debt Management Office.

A report by the World Bank released recently projected that inflation will plunge about 15 million Nigerians below poverty line under Mr Buhari regime.

“Overall, the “inflation shock” is estimated to result in about 15 million more Nigerians living in poverty between 2020 and 2022,” the report partly reads.

Nigerians this is just the beginning, but we actually have the power to end the rule of this Evil Party called APC in February 2023.

Nigerians! APC, Buhari and Tinubu don't give a fvck about you.
APC has brought untold hardship, insecurity, poverty and wicked economic policies on Nigerians.
How much is a Dollar today?
Millions of Nigerians have lost their businesses because of APC.
abi, I'm I lying I'm i making false claims??

If you ever reward APC with a win in 2023, then don't blame the Government, blame yourselves for your hardship.

There is PDP and LP
You can give them a chance and see what happens.
Nigerians are you not tired of the APC already?

The choice is yours!

You can see below me, the very words of a compromised Nigerian, he is an enemy of Nigeria. He is the reason people like Buhari and Tinubu will continue to squeeze the life and air out of Nigerians. Because they benefit from a corrupt, failed, oppressive and incompetent Govt.

Everyone should stop blaming the government for everything. It is not like they have control over petrol prices.

We should do our part as citizens to find solutions instead of protesting and complaining.
