True. Schools reply emails. Since I moved in here, I’ve been in touch with some schools too. The only challenge you will get is getting an English representative for the school, but you will definitely get. To say they don’t reply emails is weird.

Actually, the guy might be right. Some schools in South East Asians are like that they don't reply to emails unless you are in the country most times to gain an admission to their schools you will need a student in the school or country. Am saying based on experience in Philippines because some other paper work is needed not just admission letter if you want it to be valid. Try messaging directly through their official fb pages it's faster there, note experience with Philippines

Okay. You may be right tho, but my messages to the schools were via email, and I didn’t tell them I’m in Vietnam. They responded. May be because they are all private schools and have English representatives.

I have no much experience about Philippines, but I remember getting a response from some schools there when I emailed them some years back. Accepted, they may refer you to their agents if you want to apply, same may be the case for Vietnam. I was only responding to the fact That the schools won’t even respond at all. Even some schools in Uk and Australia would want you to go through their approved agents during application, but it doesn’t mean they won’t respond to your mails.

Good morning house. Please what's the fastest means of making payment to a Vietnamese school from Nigeria?
YeahYeah001:

What's the duration of studies in Vietnam? And how long are you studying the language for?

And is there work for students there? Cuz all I'm seeing are professionals going to study English.

Cost of living is almost $500 per month. Not to talk of tuition. If there's no work for students, what's the point?

Hi guys...

It's been a whilllllllle. I have been reluctant to post cos I was partly made at myself.

I promised that I woud take lots of photos for your guys but my health and phone had other plans. I did take a few and tried to extra pictures from the videos I took though.

To the main gist.....

I went on an all expense paid vacation oooooo. Like flights, 4 star hotel (I thought about my free bed at home when i heard the price per night), feeding, standby uber and gbogbo ti gbo and all that and guess who sponsored it............

Here are some more pictures.

Oh We went to Da Nang. Da Nang is beautiful mehn! The whole experience was wow! and I started asking myself why I waited 2 and half years to take my first vacation.

The hotel came with free buffet breakfast and rooftop pool. Sick!

These are still pictures of the room. We got a double bed room and that's our view

You all know this popular place?

Do you know the name?

So Saturday morning, after breakfat, went to the rooftop pool to swim a little, went back to the room to take a shower and then nap before heading out to this place and boom! Sickness!

Oh wait, that was scheduled for the next day. We were supposed to go kayaking, then the that place. That Saturday afternoon, I went with the illness to Hoi An another tourist destination but I wasn't feeling it cos I was really sick. Had to stop by a pharmacy there sef.

And that my peeps is how 3 days vacation turned to one day vacation because man pikin got the Flu undecided undecided

Ok so I think that's basically all about vacations....

Lesson learned. Go with a good phone and go healthy!

Anyways....on to visa things....

First, it's worth mentioning that the 2 guys who came barely a month ago are now big shots. Na work dey rush them with great salaries. Kuddos to them.

I also see all of you making efforts especially through the school route. May God crown all your efforts with success.

One thing I will say is, don't stop pushing. I don't know much about the school route but from the inbox messages I have received and a few I helped pay school fees (exchange stuff, no be say I use my money pay ooo. I never reach that level), trust me, you can do it on your own.

One secret, after typing your mail, go to google translate and translate the message! Most of them are just too lazy to translate. Chances are, they'll reply you in Vietnamese too and you go back to google!

if one school isn't answering you, go to another school! keep mailing until you get a reply!

I just wish more people who have done this school thingy can come and share their experience

On work visas, things are a bit slow now. No one understands the way the Vietnamese government works.

But I can tell you one thing, the demand is still huge! Infact, it's a teacher's market now and I can confidently tell you the going rate now even for new comers is about 17.5 USD to 25.5 USD.

I kid you not. Just make sure you're surrounded by good people who will guide you and give you pointers.

The same way the rate is increasing, is the same way the criterias are increasing.

It's good that many of you have now gotten your TEFL certificates, kuddos. you're one step closer.

Now, you need your

Degree
TEFL
C1
Police Report
Medical Report

For renewal purposes, you may need to write IELTS or other cheaper alternatives. IELTS in itself is cheap here cos ofcourse, yoou'll be earning in their currency. This criteria also depends on who (company) helping you renew your visa. Chances are, by the time your current visa expires, your current employee would help with renewing either bearing 100% cost of splitting with you at an agreed ratio.

Please be careful out there. Tourist visa and "visa on arrival" is not available to people with African passport. Don't confuse this with Visa vignette on arrival.

For now, you can get a company to sponsor you on a one year visa though difficult right now. I heard someone mention he was able to get a 3 months deal to be converted to one year on arrival. I hope it's a real deal.

If you get this deal though, try and push for one year instead to avoid paying double! Just pay for the one year straight

I mentioned this at the beginning of this thread but it's probably lost in the midst of lots of communications so I'll say it again.....

You can get a school to sponsor you......

Especially now that there's a shortage of teachers. But here's the thing, you need to be careful. I'll outline some things...

1. It's difficult
2. They'd rather spend less to bring in a white or a Fillipino. It costs less to bring them in
3. The school will want to take advantage of you cos they literally own you. They brought you in so be ready to collect a shitty pay
4. In the end, it's up to you and what you want and your circumstances.

I reckon by September/October, they would be more desperate a new school year has begun and many still don't have foreign teachers

Good luck to everyone trying.

Don't stop trying, don't give up, you may not end up in Vietnam but keep trying....

Lol. Wrong. We is not the groom.

No C1 is different. It's just like IELTS but a cheaper version to help with the visa processing

Hi guys, I see a lot of people are asking about the C1 certificate

1. It's not the same as TEFL, they are different
2. You have to do it in Nigeria because it is needed for visa processing
3. You can do it online. PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH
4. BOTH C1 and TEFL are needed. Refer back to number 1.

Hope this clarifies things
