Can Peter Obi Get 25% Of The Votes In The South West And North In 2023? by Nvestor02(op): 8:24pm On Aug 12, 2022
The presidential ambition of the former governor of Anambra is one of the most talked about in the country. Many people have already been mobilizing for him ahead of the coming election, especially the youths.

However, according to the Nigerian constitution, the election cannot be won with the vote of a single region at all. A person must have 25% of the vote in at least 24 states out of the 36 that we have.

This shows that at least Peter Obi will need to get a huge vote in the North and the South West before his ambition to be president can come to pass.

However, this question is: Can Peter Obi get 25% of the votes in the South West and North?

To begin with, both the South West and the North are home to the presidential candidates of the two major parties, the APC and the PDP, and as a result, this region may not be fertile for Peter Obi.

Apart from that, the party of Peter Obi's Labour Party is almost a new face to many people, and it would be hard for the party to gather large percent of votes in these two regions where both APC and PDP have members in almost all households that exist there.

The last election in Osun and Ekiti shows that the Labour Party has no strong stand in the South West because even with the presence of Peter Obi in Osun state to campaign for the governorship candidate of the state, Lasun Yusuf, the Labour Party still comes far behind both APC and PDP, who have multiple thousand votes.

Because of the fact that the Labour Party of Peter Obi has a low presence in both regions and because they are mostly unknown to the elderly and middle-aged people who mostly vote during elections, we can stand by the conclusion that Peter Obi may not be able to see 25% of the votes in both regions.

The question is not if obi will get 25%.

Is if Tinubu can see 25% from the North and Atiku will see 25% from the SW, SE & SS.

Since Ibos have turned the whole thing to tribal issue, let see how they're going to get the 25% in Southwest. How can I leave my own and vote for another person even widely known that my own is better than their own in all ramifications. I'm not a Zombie nau. Don't come here to tell me about their age differences (even though a 61years old man to them is youth). I want you to tell me their political track records. They were both Governors of their respective States for good 8years, show me their records.

I believe he can so let us support him... If he weren't in the race I would say we should all support Atiku because the southwest has betrayed the whole Southern Nigeria.

We southsouth have ruled, North have ruled the Southwest have ruled now officially it's the turn of the southeast and the southwest decided to betray everything by Tinubu insisting he must take power. Mind you the north even came out openly to say they will honour the agreement if All feilds a southeasterner as their candidate.

Atiku said he would step down from the primary if APC field an Iboe candidate for presidency instead the southwest choose the betray the whole south now they are telling you Fulani are the enemy .

One thing the southwest knows how to do is manipulate and deceive people.

Why all the sudden hate against Fulani based on the tweet below?

Oh it's become clear to that that the Fulani will not vote for Tinubu.

So pls everyone vote Peter obi ,if you won't vote Obi pls.vote Atiku... NEVER EVER VOTE FOR TINUBU

grin

Sadistic nairaland mod are busy pushing this one to front page

The answer is ........ Obi can win more that 25% of votes from those mentioned states.

But let me quickly remind you fools like the op here that any attempt to rigged or manipulate the forth coming election will not work. Hijacking of ballot boxes will not work, any body who will volunteer himself to be a tool for stealing ballot boxes or causing mayhem on the election day should consider himself dead that day.

We are ever ready than before

Funny and trashy write up especially this portion. The electoral umpire INEC has released their data for registered electorates and not only are the large percentage of the newly registered electorates youths, but they make up a whooping 71% of all registered voters. But for some reasons you guys are bent on turning those facts on its head everytime with the "only old people vote" narratives. On a second thought, glad the discussions have now left does he have structures to can he meet the required 25%. February is still a long way, by then he'll finally answer all Nigerians if he can.

There are some things I don't bother myself reading on Nairaland these days. Things like "fact check" on old corrupt politicians are irrelevant because they're almost always done by the supporters of the politician in question.

Another one is asking if Peter Obi will get a certain percentage of vote from a particular section of the country. Again, this is done by shameless young supporters of old criminally minded politicians, perhaps to discourage other young people from voting for their preferred candidates. These trickery is dead on arrival.

Whether anybody likes it or not, my vote will go to Obi. I prefer to waste my votes on Obi.
