Story.

Most of Lagos is safe by night.

There are many states in Nigeria that aren't even safe during the day time.

If you are thinking about which states I mean..
You are right.

I'm a Lagosian and I would not allow anyone rubbish the state.

I've never been robbed in Lagos despite living here for over 30 years.

I've traversed every axis sometimes during what is considered unholy hours.

Crime exists everywhere in the world but Lagos is quite safe.

Be it Apapa, Ikeja, Lekki, VI, Ajah, people go clubbing at night with very little incidents.

I would never allow anyone distort this truth.

Lagos is actually underhyped.

I've visited many cities around the world and I've discovered that some of them are not as you perceive them through movies and such.

I love Lagos.

It is my identity when I'm outside Nigeria and the first place people talk about or even know about when you talk of Nigeria.

Lagos is lovely, is getting better and I daresay, the only state in Nigeria that one can actually feel safe in most parts.

With its explosive population, no Boko Haram, no Herdsmen, no Ipob.

Abeg leave Lagos for me.

I have been to quite some. And none in my lists can compare to the overhyped slum you so much talk about!

So, I would want to hear from you those cities you have visited around the world that are perceived by you not up to the standard of your dear Lagos!

You name them and let me bust the hype.

Is New York City not overhyped?

And when I mean NY, I mean Brooklyn, Harlem and the Bronx?

Is Naples not overhyped?

Is Coventry not overhyped?

Parts of London are overhyped.

I swear, even Houston has some hype to it.

Most of the European cities such as Amsterdam, Oslo, Copenhagen are actually better than promoted.

But those ones movies tend to promote have so many things that'll make you wonder.

Of all those cities mentioned tell me one that experiences power failure on a regular, agberoism, lawlessness, nepotism, disobedience to traffic rules, high-handedness of some citizens because of their positions in society, and so on!

All of them have their issues.

Rats on trains and roads in NY are there for all to see.

Ask anyone in Naples if they don't have their own version of agbero.
By the way, which one have you been to?

Well, it seems you are itshy to know some of the places I have visited around the world and how they can not be compared to your beautiful slum. I have been to Amsterdam, Philadelphia, NY, ATL, Maryland, NJ, Ottawa, Delaware, Baltimore, Michigan; and so on!

While in NY, I didn't even took the train. I drove on several occasions and took greyhound on some occasions. While in Amsterdam, I didn't board a train neither. Now, your point of spotting rats on train and roads is superficial at best because you ain't got no prove to back it up! grin

No proof?

That's too easy about NY.

At the end, the point I'm trying to make is that most of the cities are overhyped.

NY is overhyped.

From Flatbush to JFK, the road is no different than going from Marina to MM2.

Might even come across more potholes in NY.

Well, good luck to you and your Lagos! grin

You might want to admonish the father of Lagos to have faith in the health sector of Lagos state like the V.P did; rather than him wasting so much Lagos monies on medical tourism all the time!

A food for thought!
