Dance is part of physical activities that strengthens the body. Under jss 3 PHE there is a topic on dance. To me too I dont like dance but did it just to pass and go meanwhile I was running away from courses that invove calculations then.

I did a course in the Department of Physical Educaion some years back. it was called Dance Education then. You had to dance as part of the pratical if you did not then you fail. To me what happened here is not strange.

The lecturers in that department should have their brain tested for some elements of highness because such a course is a total absurdity. Rubbish!

It was not the lecturers who designed the curriculum but the government and ther educational agencies. But come to think about it, google it you will discover that dance education is done through the whole world in the universities in physical education dept. Nigeria is not a peculiar case. Just go to google and type Dance Education.

I watched a movie years back, titled "Chicago".

I was shocked to see how a lot of Hollywood's top actors then danced and danced well.

Catherine Zeta-Jones and co, even Richard Gere did a wonderful tap dance.

That's why their entertainment industry is too notch.

Their actors are mostly professionals who studied acting, music and dance up to degree level.

I mentioned those countries because many of you will say in a sane countries such things cannot be done. The course was elective not compulsory. Not even a course you can major on. You do it once and that is all. It is to train would be teachers and those who major in PHE in future the role of dance in making our body fit. But then are dancers not making it in our countries today? Are they not adding to the growth of our economy?

They can also be in PHE department. Such can become dance instructors or use synchronised dance in aerobic exercise.
