See your yeye mouth. My pastor don warn me to stop womanizing Nigerian babes, that I am destined to marry Oyibo, so I have to think towards that side.

Haven't you heard of the power of attraction. Oya go read one of Rhonda Byrne's books.

I think, we need to invest more in our girls. Especially those ones in sports.
Not those useless boys, who are just wasting our money, without any meaningful things to show for it. Especially super eagles. Bunch of useless players, excluding victor osimen

Nigeria is about the richest and most talented nation in the world. But politics and corruption is destroying our national team.

We had the opportunity to win the world cup 1994 but threw it away because of corruption.

Congratulations to the girls. I hope they make it through to the finals.

Next round now them go japa. Ask Super Eagle?

I think they will do well. My biggest fear during the group stage was the French girls. The Nigerian girls have worked very hard but I think luck has been on their side as well. The first match could’ve gone either way same as the second match against South Korea.

The goal from tue French was disallowed, some other referee might’ve allowed it, several incursions into the Falconet’s goal area…against Korea, they struck the upright etc.

No doubt about the tenacity of the falconets, after the first goal early this morning, they showed grit, lots of energy chasing every ball. Poor shooting was their problem. Okpe would’ve scored a couple if she got her acts right.
They scored from the penalty spot twice in the first half by same girl that scored a stunner against Korea.

The Nigeria coach was shouting instructions from the sideline throughout the duration of the match. It was very awkward, I think he need to let the girls play. It almost felt like they were being remote controlled from the sideline….15mins to go and his cracked voice was still being heard. I think the girls were scared or inhibited sometimes especially when someone needed to take on the Canadian girls around the 18yard box. The coach was shouting and you’d see that the girls didn’t felt restrained to use their initiatives.

They played well. It’s been a while I saw Nigerian female players running, chasing opponents and tackling the way they did today. I commend them for the way they dispossessed the Canadians without committing many fouls.

Their captain and centre back reminds me of Wendie Renard of France. She’s shorter than Renard but plays with the same intelligence, bravery, calmness.

It was a VAR call not that of the referee alone.
Every goal scored is reviewed by VAR as per the new laws of the game.
There can no longer be any mistake about a goal scored or not in top flight soccer matches.

I think they showed consistency, their level of energy never waned in my opinion. They should’ve scored more than 1 goal in the second half.

The fact is that they won but my worry is if they’d be able to face the Canadians and dominate them in about 5-6 from now. The Canadians were taller and they’d be much stronger physically in a few years. They would be a different set of women in a few years.

The Falconets were never given a chance with opponents in the likes of France , Canada and South Korea but against all odds , they made it to the next stage.
Kudos to them !

Why they hadn't a chance? These girls have very good individual skills but more importantly .... are disciplined and play as a team. Kudos to the coach as well... do we really need a foreign coach to succeed?... I hope he is paid as much as the foreign ones ... and given the same support.
