URGENT TRAFFIC ANNOUNCEMENT

TRAVEL ADVISORY

In order to ease congestion and reduce delay along Lekki-Epe Expressway, the Lagos State Government, as part of the solutions, has, commencing from 8.00am, Saturday, 20th August, 2022, provided some measures as follows:

1) The intersection in front of VGC will be permanently closed, hence motorists driving from Ikota Shopping Mall/VGC inwards Ajah will only be able to make a U-turn just before 2nd Toll Plaza (Conservation Toll Gate).

2) The newly constructed U-Turn in front of Landmark Centre will be opened to vehicular traffic, hence motorists coming from Mega Chicken / Eleganza will now be able to make a U-turn only at the Landmark Centre.

Residents, stakeholders and travellers along that axis are enjoined to adhere to these new regulations/guidelines so as to restore order/sanity, and improve the travel time.

Note that security and law enforcement personnel will be deployed to secure lives and property, manage and control traffic for all road users so as ensure compliance with the new traffic order.

Lekki...glorified slum

Way to go. I once spent 3 hours from Ajah under bridge to VGC because of that VGC construction, something that should not take 2 mins normally. The worst part is that those workers will not work in the night when there is far less movement, they will resume work in the morning when everyone is rushing to work and will close work 4-5 pm when everyone is closing too, making life miserable for commuters.

Look at Awoyaya Axis, dem scatter the road leave am like that, carry all their motor dey go, Awoyaya is a no go area now.

Good idea unfortunately nairaland is the most regressive online forum in the same Nigeria. So this will not fly.

Lastma go chop some magas. Some may not be informed about the traffic situation and would go against it. Lastma don't direct people, they will rather wait for you to make mistake and be arrested.

Lagos is just overrated. The traffic there is horrendous.

I remember when I was working in Lagos I was always falling sick and having high BP. Since leaving Lagos all that sickness stopped because my stressors disappeared. Very overrated city.
