The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministry has condemned the practice of one of its pastors in Okija, Anambra State, who allegedly used his private facility to detain and hold people hostage under the guise of deliverance ministration.

The Director of Administration, MFM, Akin Olawale, in a statement on Wednesday, disclosed that the church leadership has directed the said pastor to shut down the illegal facility and report to the headquarters for further actions.

Olawale added that they are currently in touch with enforcement agencies and family members of those concerned to ensure that issues are properly addressed and justice served accordingly.

He said, “It came to the notice of the leadership of the MFM on Tuesday (August 23, 2022) that a place in Okija in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State was allegedly being used to detain, chain and hold people hostage against their will in the guise of conducting deliverance.

“We got the information with a rude shock as that is completely alien to our practice all over the world. Although the alleged pastor is one of our pastors, the said facility is a private property of the pastor and his activities of conducting such kind of deliverance are neither with the knowledge nor approval of the church leadership.

“In his response to our preliminary investigation, the pastor claims the respective candidates who were being brought to him for prayer against mental ailment and drug addiction usually have their guardians to sign an undertaking for them.”

With chains Kwa? The Pastor is the one who needs deliverance. Arrest him ASAP so those heafty inmates will deliver him in jail.

Why arrest him?
If he is genuine, leave him. If he is not, the 7 sons of scava will be better than him.

The criminal pastor will not shut down the place oo, instead, he will breakaway from mfm and open his own church to continue with his scam. No thanks to gullible Nigerians seeking spiritual help

No church is clean...no church!

I remember some of my early days in one of the branch in Asore Akute and endless journey to Prayer City, Lagos/Ibadan expressway, we were taught to wage spiritual warfare all by ourselves and not seek out an intermediary in the guise of a pastor and it worked for some of us.

So opening a deliverance center is an aberration to the church at least to Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministry.

My country people sha, may God help us

From what we have observed, some families do not trust govt facilities because of various reasons such as no proper care, people not being taken care of, free access to illicit drugs and very poor hygiene situation such as YabaLeft & other facilities. Some families resort to places they can trust to help solve their peculiar problems.

Mental challenges have affected so many people. We do not believe they arbitrarily get people, keep them against their will. Who have been providing for the needs of those people? Of course their various family members.

There's need for govt to look into this area and really provide adequate facilities and personnel. In fact if you observe keenly, many are still roaming the streets and you see some with pregnancies probably abandoned by family members or they escaped from various facilities like the woman who just walked away from a govt facility and was later found 2 or 3 days later with bruises.
