We, in PH, will soon join them. After PH, Abuja will join, if it hasn't already.

This is a good development.
No need for police to waste their time chasing defaulters on the road and possibly causing accidents and traffic congestion.

See this dumb fool. Politics has made you impervious to innovation.
Lagos MVAA has the data of all Lagos registered vehicles in Lagos. As far as you have a Lagos plate, they have your number, they have your details.
This has been on as far back as 2018.

I think Nigeria is improving gradually, because i believe the camera on the road must have captured his number plate and from there, they ran his license and got his information.

He was lucky...my neighbour got 40k for driving with expired vehicle licence..
Number plates are now randomly scanned via cctv and otherwise to catch traffic offenders and those driving without renewing licenses grin

Must you display your ignorance like this on a public forum?

So, LASTMA must collate data to get individual details attached to each registered vehiclehuh?

I shake my head for you....

Vehicle registration numbers are linked with the owner's phone number, BVN etc. If there is a database with all that information, it's very possible.

All vehicle registrations are linked to the phone number provided by the owner.....when u default.....they'll just add it to ur profile and notify u by SMS...... Whenever you come for renewal ...you must then have to clear the debt on ur profile

Wow, we are getting there. Digital. So, they tracked him ba. grin Next time he will think twice before beating traffic to a party. The next is to ensure the 20k being paid is not diverted to personal purse. Once the controls are in place like this we are assured of getting better. No need for police chasing traffic offenders all over the place and possibly constituting a menace or causing accidents.
it can't be diverted boss. I witnessed a situation where dispatch riders came to renew their bike license at VIO office along yaba road chia if you see offence though they didn't let the riders know at first, they just told them they need to examine the bikes b4 handing the license to them when the bikes got into their premises then they released all their offence chia the least I saw amongst the 5 riders is 60k and one other guy had about 230k fine na so I jejely leave the roadworthiness money wey I pay when they say make i bring the car come, make e no be say they go say car owner beat red light for Allen come beat another one for ojodu.

Yes, that is the way to go if Nigeria must work again—it is the duty of the govt to instill discipline among the citizens.
