Biodun556:Do the seaports in Nigeria function efficiently? When you answer intelligently, I will tell you why connecting Niger and Chad to our rail lines leading to seaports is not a good idea |

austinvsb:I clap for u baby politician. Osinbajo that would have been torn to pieces by IPOBians for Obi? They will call him evil pastor, commissioner, Trader money thrift distributor. That is when they will remember he embezzled N-power fund, he is the one in charge of the economy and he is Buhari continuation. Even Northerner will not vote for him, that is when they will remember he is a pastor. Even the so called christians and Igbo Catholics will say his government will be for only RCCG members. Atiku will tear him in the north, Obi will trash him in the south. So where will he get the votes that will make it to be over before it even started as u have hoped? You people are only pained bcs APC is wiser and presented a hard to beat candidate in Tinubu. |

Do we even make effective use of railways internally? With all the trailers damaging our roads hauling goods to and from lagos to all parts of the country ,besides does Nigeria have the financial capacity to embark on such humungous projects at this time? This set of politicians just explore every possible means to pilfer our dwindling economic resources without setting priorities right . Fix our infrastructure internally first and, bolster our exports before delving into white elephant projects abeg. |

Bestbeelieve:Nigeria cannot absorb them, rather their fellow fulani will. If not for those godforsaken colonialists, we have no business being together in the first place. They were the ones who decided to cut and join different people together. Even Yorubaland extends outside of Nigeria, same as Calabar and others. I hope in the nearest future, Africans can finally wake up and put their destiny back into their own hands. Here's a map of Africa before their evil invasion. I hope we go back to this setting, where people of the same identity live together in one country.

Biodun556:There is no issue linking up other African countries together with Nigeria but should come with priority. You have not linked up Nigeria states you are linking another country just to benefit the Fulani janjaweeddds. I trust Obi to utilize every idiot and make profit for every body |

spy24:True Niger don’t produce but we do produce and they don’t have a seaport to import so we taking advantage of that to get imported goods to them and making cool cash won’t be a bad idea don’t you think? It is an opportunity to also boost exportation or local products. Imagine our local shoes wears making it to Niger legally. Don’t you think Buhari has foresight? |

Have you linked cities in Nigeria your country first. Critically stupid talk coming from a fellow one expects to know about micro and macro economics. Development starts out from the core. She went to school and must have studied basic biology ! Shame! |

Don27tiky:What are the Nigerien and Chadian economics worth? If there are sub-regional entities Nigeria should cautiously interact with, they are Chad and Niger! Very insecure climes and tied to France like forever. Funny idea to imagine that France will allow Nigeria take the pride of place in those Francophone countries when they are black Frenchmen. Colonisation by assimilation is a strong brand. |

| Re: Gbemisola Saraki: Why Nigeria Is Linking Niger, Landlocked Countries With Rail by Advision: 8:53am On Aug 30, 2022 |
Biodun556:A significant portion of Nigeria's imports actually comes through the ports of neighbouring states e.g togo/benin becauseof various inefficiencies ...its an open secret. Common sense dictates you set your house before you invite others over. Except you are implying buhari and his cabinet lack the common sense to know that setting the port in order to deal with the revenue loss arising from importers using other countries ports is the more important thing to deal that taking a huge loan from china to build an expensive rail to a country with an economy smaller than lagos |

Biodun556:Oga have u been to niger before? If u have been to Niger, u will notice that a significant amount of what they use there are usually from the north Africans, and other francophone countries. No doubt u will see Nigerian products, but they prefer their Arab and French brothers. Buhari has no foresight, Niger's biggest city and economic hub (Niamey)is 600+ km away from maradi where the rail line is going to stop If Buhari actually has foresight as u have said, that rail line should be from sokoto to Naimey not katsina to maradi. The population of maradi region and zinder region combined, is not up to Niamey. Connecting sokoto to Niamey is more economical cause the rail line will bring Nigerian traders close to not just Niger traders, but Burkina and Malian traders |

Biodun556:People are building walls to poor countries and you are building interlocking roads. A country of a scarcely 25 million population with almost all the land wasted in the Sahara has nothing much but dependency on any economy that it interlocks with. Think business and think profit. The US has a reason for building walls to stop Mexicans from flooding the US. Cos' the country is extremely corrupt. Which in lies the likes of Niger. Niger is 100 times worse than Mexico. Mexico bring in drugs, but Niger bring in Islamic terrorists. Buhari sealed off Benin republic because it is not an islamic republic. He has not connected with any single Christian majority country since he became president. That is a dumb move, Sir. There was never an existing border cutting off Niger from Nigeria. The road has been as Cameroon is. We should be connecting borders to Ghana, Angola and South Africa and Kenya at this point, not Niger. That move is a monstrous debacle. |
