Putin doesn't seem to me as someone who wants to learn. If it were possible for him to reclaim all those nations that left the USSR, including Eastern Germany.... I am sure he will be very glad.

The youngest and last of Soviet leaders. He tried to reform the USSR through perestroika and glasnost just to prevent the union from collapsing, but the growing protest and tension at home following the the invasion of Afghanistan was too much for the young and inexperienced Gorbachev.

Boris Yeltsin quest for power also lead to the fall of the soviet Union. Some see him as a weak leader while others see him as a hero because the union collapsed without the firing of a single rifle.
