Again, if you go to any single state in Nigeria, you would see so many structures that were constructed after 2000. If you visited Ado -Ekiti before the year 2000 you would not recognize it anymore. Same with Asaba, Uyo, Abuja, and basically every state in the country. people are building new structures every day. Lagos was already on the growth trajectory with or without Tinubu. Infact, IBB once said one of the reasons he moved capital from Lagos to Abuja was that Lagos was building to become the economic capital, that's in the mid 80s. Lagos' monthly igr apart from faac allocation is 45bil, that's money that will be realised by Adamawa and anambra in years in igr not one month, but the fact that you are even comparing these places proved how shallow your 'our master built Lagos' argument is. Lagos can go to the money market to raise 500b in a month or two, anambra and Adamawa wouldn't dare and can't achieve that. Lagos can do PPP with the multiple private coys to drive growth at scale, something not available to anambra and Adamawa. Lagos can give tax breaks to coys whose revenues are 20b and above for the provision of infrastructure, options not available to both States. This argument of comparing Lagos and other states in Nigeria is wack and shallow, and does not prove in any way the genius of the lion of the bourdillion. Lagos is not a single person's action, its nature (proximity to the Atlantic for seaports) and providence (population growth plus being colonial headquarters and later Nigerian headquarters with the subsequent advantages such as constant allocation from fed account) and then work put in by former leaders (of military and civilian era- read about marwa's stint as Lagos governor) and many different other factors. Giving him(Tinubu) credit for a few positives is not out of question but telling us we owe everything to him is a big lie, just like telling us our democracy is because of him, hell even Buhari is because of him. Expected better from you. Or maybe, no argument is small for 'agbado' urchins. |

Yankee101:If people closer to you do not succeed then you have failed as a leader. Yes we love that kind of imposition. Tinubu is our godfather in the West because he made leaders who inturn built leaders and the same imposition gave VP, speaker house of rep, first grade ministers, and etc. If imposition by Tinubu could make Lagos be the foremost state in terms of human capital, GDP, IGR, Startups, Industries, Mega Investments, and etc, then we rather have that imposition THAN become stagnant like the unproductive erosion muddy region where there is no imposition. Again, Tinubu is a godfather in the West. If you don't like it, go and jump inside the lagoon or Awkusu muddy river. |

Was it Tinubu that built the airport or seaports or the mainland bridges or other major infrastructure? Before Tinubu, Lagos was already the headquarters of every commercial bank, Multinational company, and National investment. Unless you were born yesterday you wouldn't know this. So I ask what did Tinubu add to Lagos in 8 years. He did absolutely nothing. He added no major project to Lagos in 8 years, and built no major road. He did nothing.
