One thing though, Ghanaian economy has grown bigger over the past 5 years as well. Bigger economies comes with their bigger problems as well especially when your economy is largely informal and many enjoy being tax-free to a large extent.

Exactly so... Hence life in Ghana is very expressive because govt turn to a 50% indirect tax on almost everything now ..
