This was disclosed by the Minister of Transportation, Engr. Mu’azu Sambo, during the inspection of the project, on Friday, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Hope former Minister of Transportation, Hon. Rotimi Amaechi, was on hand to receive this open insult directly from his successor for all his 'loyalty' grin

This article didn't say indefinite or abandoning the project. It says "halt" which could mean "to suspend". This means work will continue after some measures to protect workers and secure rail tracks.

So y'all need to chill and get yourself educated. Not everything you criticize or tribalize. I am sure that suspension of the project is supported by workers for their own safety. Try to be emphatically concerned about the workers' safety.

someone broke this news on Twitter a week ago and as usual they denied it.

There hasn't been an attack on any railway or CCEC worker in Abia State. this guys move along with heavy military escort and i have a question , since the project is suspended ,why are the Chinese contractor's taking and moving away the tracks on the Aba section of the railway ?

later this nepotism driven government will blame the Igbo for this-they already have and termed it vandalism (I wish I took pictures of them taking away those rail tracks).

for some of my SE brethren whom want to be more righteous than the pope, this isn't the first time Buhari is doing this. He did it when he was a military president using his half Fulani stooge Ike oma.r. Nw.chu.kwu to unbundle and sell the gas turbines of a brand new power plant built by the then Civilian administration of old imo state. Foreign loans gotten for Aba metallurgical centre was siphoned .

Just before 2014, the rehabilitation of the NNPC pipeline running from Aba-Enugu was completed and the Enugu depot was ready to join the then recently reopened Aba depot(both were shut down under OBJ) that Enugu depot was never opened till date- infact the NNPC said the couldn't open it because the Aba-Enugu stretch of the pipeline was being vandalized more than a dozen times daily but it might interest you to know that those pipelines are pumping refined crude products to somewhere since 2015- now (remember the pipeline explosion that happened some years back in osisioma Aba ? that pipeline heads from Aba depot to Enugu)

the Aba-Ph stretch of the Enugu-ph road is abandoned as of today . Enugu-Anambra ? what of the power plant Gej built In imo ? A power plant that another misguided bro of our Rochas did everything possible to derail . imolites should ask Rochas and Bubu what ever happened to the gas turbines for that ohaji power plant that last we heard was in a port in Nigeria .

the SE hasn't received a single kilometer of rail from this government ,but the have taken kilometers of the rail track laid down by the colonial masters to ship coal from Enugu out the country. And basta.d.s like Dave umahia ,Orji uzor kalu and Ngige will still support them ?

it is the Chinese contractor that is pulling off the old tracks bro, to pull out tracks no easy and you need heavy equipment.

the left the part of the track in Aba urban areas and began pulling out rail tracks in very primitive areas on the outskirt of Aba even part of the track they left for weeks along GZI road was left untouched till they came back with more machines and by morning, everything was gone.. I always wondered when I encountered them and there military guards why the started pulling the tracks randomly and without pattern . Common sense is that since the are building from pH -ABA that they will pull the tracks and replace with new ones from pH.
this is a railway that was still functional till date (Gej renovated that railway from ph-aba,it was to reach Borno but Buhari happened) albeit with very ancient locomotives , infact sometime last year,it was the most easy way to move goods from pH to Aba owing to the very bad stat of the Aba-Ph section of enugu-ph road.

As usual in all things involving this present administration , corruption must happen
