2023: Why The North May Not Vote Tinubu – APC Forum Leaders by Newton2024: 6:37pm On Sep 07, 2022

Leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on the platform of the North Central APC Forum, has called on the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to review his political calculations and understanding of the Dynamics of the country if he is to win the 2023 presidential election.

Speaking on behalf of the Forum in Jos, its Chairman, Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga, said Tinubu is being wrongly advised by some few people around him, and that he doesn’t appear to think much of, or understand the North.

He said Tinubu is still mistaking the whole Nigeria with Lagos State and parts of the Southwest, where he has much influence.

Zazzaga said what Tinubu does not understand is that the North particularly believes in anyone who believes in the region and the nation at large, and when they make up their mind to support a candidate in an election, they do so wholeheartedly.

“From the way Tinubu is going, he is yet to fully understand the entire nation, especially the North, and he is still taking advice from a few persons rather than expanding his national network and knowledge of the nation”, Zazzaga noted.

He also stated that, “that is why the likes of former President Olusegun Obasanjo is still seen as very intelligent when it comes to understanding all parts of the country”, pointing out that “if Tinubu is mistaking the entire nation for Lagos State or the Southwest, then he could be in for a surprise come 2023”, explaining further that “Nigeria is bigger than that, and with the current challenges the nation is faced with, he needs to think outside the Lagos or Southwest region to show that he has a national solution to the nation’s problems.

“For Tinubu to be campaigning with his achievements in Lagos as a governor cannot fit in at this moment because he is only talking about a state and not the nation at large”, and accordingly urges him to expand his scope and spread for national acceptability.

Zazzaga also noted that “there are things that some of the leaders around him need to tell him. Those of us who are dealing with the grassroots, particularly in the North, hear lots of things and always try to call him out to adjust, but he has not been responding. It may therefore be difficult to convince many people in the North to trust him and vote for him.

“This year we have held press conferences calling on Tinubu to apologise to Nigerians over his comments years back that he does not believe in one Nigeria, but to no avail. Again we have tried to caution him from some kind of comments such as he is ready to fight dirty with anyone in his quest to become the President of the country in 2023, and saying this time is his turn for him rule, all to no avail.”

He said Tinubu, obviously, is yet to understand that all these unnecessary comments have registered in peoples minds, and much needs to be done to convince them otherwise.

He reiterated that they would work for the success of the party come 2023. Noting, however, that they will need to address some issues so that canvassing votes for the party will also be made easy.

Hear me loud and clear BUHARI FORMED/DEFECTED TO MANY POLITICAL PARTIES WITH DIFFERENT LOGOS SINCE 2003 BEFORE APC IN 2015, HIS FOLLOWERS WERE STILL FOLLOWING HIM AND BE VOTING FOR HIM DESPITE BUHARI'S DEFECTIONS THOSE YEARS

lol

Thank you sirs.
I think he is just talking about his antecedents, where he had worked. Both private and public.
He had never been a Minister,President before.
When he was a Senator,he performed well by attracting investment worth #20 million then into Nigeria.I dont know if any Senator has ever done that.Maybe one or two have, dunno.

One thing will all know is that Tinubu galvanized the growth of Lagos.
Nigeria has always had a lot of resources.....oil,mineral resources, collects taxes from all companies in Nigeria, collects trillions from customs in the SW,Airports,Ports but still going down, down because of bad management, corruption etc.
Lagos without all these resources has been growing and growing since Tinubu came on board in 1999.

Ogun state has more industries than Lagos.
Rivers,Delta etc have a lot of petrochemical companies in them and also collect 13% derivatives.
The Delta state allocation from 13% derivative for last month(August) went up to 92 billion naira yet they are down below Lagos because of corruption.

Lagos does not collect money from the Ports,Airport or custom but it is the 5th economy in Africa because of good management and remarkable prudence exhibited by Tinubu and his disciples.

Since the advent of Tinubu in the governance of Lagos,he and his team have been paying WAEC (and NECO) fees for students without fail.
They have been running free education....primary to college...since 1999.

They have built more number of University like secondary schools since 1999 than any state.

Lagos is the only state that does not owe workers and pensioners like the other states and Nigeria.

Lagos has been paying 5000 naira more than the minimum wage since inception.Any other state that wants to copy may notb be consistent because of bad management and corruption.

Tinubu and his team have made Lagos,a country in the country called Nigeria.

Tinubu facilitated the Lekki seaport. If it is left for Tinubu and his team,I am sure that Lagos will be richer than all the countries in Africa if Tinubu is at the helms of affairs.
Tinubu has always had this midas touch that grows both living things and non living things.
Vote wisely.Vote Tinubu so that Nigeria can enjoy exponential growth, good economy, stability and peace like Lagos.

Northern votes is for four frontline candidates, Tinubu will only get a fraction of it.

His choice of Muslim Muslim ticket will deal a deadly blow to him in other parts of southern Nigeria, he isn't a smart politician at all

Tinubu and his Strategists should wake up to the sad reality.
Atiku is winning the North hands down convincingly
The south is divided
The North is rallying behind Atiku
Atiku seems to be the one inheriting Buhari Northern votes not Tinubu that we thought since he is an APC member.
So in reality Peter Obi emergence is not really a problem anymore for Atiku since he is already making aggressive inroads in the North, Tinubu is the one that is having problem with Obi emergence, if Atiku has the North on lockdown, Tinubu will need to look beyond
south west and look towards the south South and South East to poll at least 60% of their total votes in those two regions, which will we all know it is not possible, and the Muslim Muslim ticket is not helping matters for Tinubu in south South and South East regions.
Atiku will win the North and still pick up significant votes in the South, alongside Tinubu and Obi.
And ur guess is as good as mine Atiku will poll more overall votes across the country to be elected President, it is not rocket science, it is the current reality on ground.
Tinubu has to step down for Obi
Or
Obi step down for Tinubu

I trust Tinubu to spend billions and take a chunk of Atiku’s votes in the North.

This will make it easy for Obi to be sworn in as President next year.

Tinubu is just a spoiler, the ancestor is not in the race.

If Obi doesn't get at least 25% of votes in each Northern states and at least overall 40% in the entire Northern states , he can't never President ---Know this and now peace, it's not by winning votes in the south
With Unknown gun men and IPOB creating Voters apathy in the south east, Obi will need to win at least over 40% of the entire Northern votes which is practically impossible in order to add to his votes in the south to become President that is the reality on ground hate it or Love it.

I created a thread on this and no one seems to take notice of it.
Sometimes, I wonder whether this politicians we celebrate are actually politicians in the real sense especially the Southern politicians.
They don't seem to reason straight politically.

I am only interested in this election because I want a core Middle Beltan President after the South. We have been marginalised so much in this country.
