There's a difference between slave trade and colonialism, these are 2 distant eras. The queen never enslaved any Africans, before everybody becomes an online activist, try to get proper knowledge.

Perhaps Mary Slessor too shouldn't have stopped the killing of twins in Nigeria because African societies were "perfect" undecided

Colonialism was what ushered Africa into the present stage of enlightenment and development. What would we achieve without Christianity and education?

Just like the Uju woman insulting people up and down on Twitter, most of you love to deceive yourselves.
the Uju woman is offensive and an attention-seeker.

Sadly, over 600 ignorant and gullible people liked his ignorant and uneducated post.

England abolished the slave trade in 1833, a whole century before the Queen and Mr. Odutola were born.

They are on another self-destructive errand, watch how they play the victim and blame other people for their new foolery.

OMG!!!! You think you’ve achieved anything with the force-feeding of Christianity to Africans?! Roflmaooooo!!!! You people have been brainwashed beyond redemption. This is so sad! Christian—if you must know— is the SOLE reason why Black societies all over the planet are the most backwards in every term you can think off. For example, look at your ignorant comment.

Yeah, that's what most people don't understand. Today I still believe that we caused everything.

Before they came, there were inter tribal wars probably because of land. Africans were fighting each other and keeping captives as slaves.

When the English settlers came, they started selling the captives in exchange for things like mirrors and guns.

Can you imagine, it got to a stage, the Africans dumped gold trade and started kidnapping people and selling them as slaves. Leaders were bribed and they started selling slaves.

I even read that there was a time slave trade was the major commodity for European trade. They destroyed our religion and converted many to christianity. What baffles me is that most of the English settlers were Christians.

The Europeans have done more harm than good. What they did to us is even better, read about the Native Americans, these people were living in America before Christopher Colomubus came.
Europeans owe the world an apology.
“I read, I read, I read…”. You read something written by the same white man that enslaved you then took it as your history. A lot of you have mental issues. I really think the problem is low self-esteem.

Are the pictures on the FP recent?
If so, the house has been well maintained all these decades. Quite impressive and unlike us with our bad, or rather nonexistent maintenance culture.
It is very recent, you need to see how clean the place is!!!

Choke on your ignorance, cretin and keep your slavery to yourself cos you're the slave here, not me.

I have schooled the dimwit but yet he yelps 'ignorance' faintly because its the only word he has ever known. A word moulded and knocked into his empty skull by his revered slave masters. It is very obvious that even your conception was consummated in a cauldron of ignorance.

House slave!

Is this a revisionist theory or what? Pick the Era of the Old Oyo empire that went as far back as 1300, slavery has been enthrenched wars were prosecuted to capture slaves for farming and fight more wars. Your argument is not supported by any shred of History. Please go and read and do not use imagination.

Its not a revisionist theory... its the truth...

look at the first page of this thread a user named bergs2 commented "These are the few that benefited from slave trade. Mind you! Africans sold Africans", If Odutola was from his ethnicity he would never ever had said such a thing because he is someone that believes no African can be wealthy legally...

If someone like bergs2 decides to write history on the Yorubas do you think he will write anything good about Yorubas

even you yourself are forgetting that Africans grew their own food, so at least 90% of Africans had knowledge of farming and agriculture but you claim Africans captured other Africans for farming and fighting more wars which is wrong because most Africans in that era had at least 4 - 13 children from one wife not to mention the other children they would have with their other wives and girlfriends..

To you what the whyte man wrote about Africa and Africans is your truth... but for me, what the whyte man wrote is nonsense and is only supported by their own version of history which you have swallowed...

"If slavery was already part of Africa then E:uropeans would never ever have been able to colonize Africa because Africans" wtf bro to be sincere your point is lame... Can you read and re read again.

when people fight wars they get more hardened mentally and create more weapons and a bigger army..

if slavery was already part of Africa then Africans would have fought more wars amongst themselves and be more hardened and create more weapons which would have prevented e:uropeans from trying to fight any African nation because all of the African nations would be war-ready...
