Sort the clothes before washing.

I soak my towels (they are not coloured) in hot water and bleach before washing.

Some other fabrics may not survive such treatment so it's advisable to treat them as per manufacturer's instructions.

He finally agreed with me and decided to switch and reduce his bill drastically.

yes incase you want to wash something with warm water, like dry fish, Okporoko, or have you not seen a kitchen tap with hot or cold function?

I have. The ONLY reason we have hot water taps in the west is for us to wash the dishes cos it physically imposable to use cold water. Oils will stick to dishes and water will freeze out. To wash fish or food stuff you simply boil an electric kettle less than 4 mins problem solved, I think having a water heater in the kitchen is an over kill.
