My Experience Trying To Buy Dell Latitude E5450 Today by LUAN1: 9:00pm On Sep 15, 2022
For couple of days I have been visiting laptop shops to get a uk/us used laptop for myself, due to insufficient fund/little budget, I have visited so many shops trying to see if I could get a laptop within my budget with this spec. 8gb ram
SSD storage
At least 5th gen
At least core i5.
I would say Getting a laptop as a newbie is very difficult, especially someone like me that so much like perfection. Because of that I have been disturbing Sheriman , Qinglong , NONNYG , DrLevi , and others whenever I'm in the laptop shop. So today, I finally saw a system that is within within my budget, 130k with the following spec.
Dell latitude E5450
6th gen
Core i5
8gb ram
500gb Hdd storage.
Omor, when I was about to do transfer to the man , I said let me just go through the laptop once more. We put the ON, I noticed that it too a very long time for the laptop to reboot. After rebooting I also noticed that the keyboard was not responding well ( that is: when you press a key, it would take some minutes for what you press to display or sometimes it won't display at all) I was convinced to take the laptop that there is no problem, I still insist that there is a problem before the seller noticed it also.
I was told that the system need to be drive and format, or windows issue. Please Is Dell latitude e5450 a good laptop? And if the system is drive abi format, would it be okay. I Was asked to come back tomorrow and pick the laptop.
Please help a poor newbie

No way a 5450 is has a 6th gen CPU. Its 4th gen CPU, slow HDD and slow DDR3 RAM

not a good buy in my opinion but then laptop don cost sha, I don't even know what a good buy is anymore

There is this offerup thread in the technology market section where big Lagos dealers post laptops they got from the States. That's the best place to get and compare laptop prices instead of making constant trips to the market and back

That your money is too much for you to go buy something that will give you issue, go for something better and not this particular one.but then re installing new windows will solve the issues,up to date drivers etc.

My experience with buying a laptop via nairaland is the worst. He shipped the laptop and the first thing I noticed was key 0 isn't working I told him and he said he was going to send the keyboard for me to replace it. He didn't send anything to this date. Now, about 6 keys are not working.

Terrible experience.

This is the laptop and the seller https://www.nairaland.com/6984500/dell-corei5-500gb-4gb-upgradeable

Be careful in dealing with him

Like I said that your money is enough to buy something better, but drivers and windows will do the trick to that slow system. Most times people don't get to update their systems

Please!! I take God beg you. Try to get more funds with the amount you have at hand and get a better laptop you will fully enjoy. Don't rush to buy one dead laptop that will later use your eyes see shege. You may later regret it.
May God bless our hustle.

The second one seems the best choice. You would have to solve the battery issue somehow, maybe a replacement battery or an external power supply. Just ensure everything else is okay, keyboard keys, USB ports, hinges etc. Good luck

Deicide got this steal of a laptop for 150k. Honestly if he could link you to his seller and you get something like that, it would be better. https://www.nairaland.com/7341737/experience-using-amd-based-system

He should get a ThinkPad, OmoDavidoX has one T440 he’s always advertising on the clearance thread. The OP can meet him physically for physical inspection.
