Former President Donald Trump’s battle with the FBI over its search of Mar-a-Lago has moved from South Florida to New York City, where a court-appointed “special master” on Tuesday indicated he has a very simple test for whether he sides with the Department of Justice.

The special master, Raymond J. Dearie, said Tuesday that if Trump’s lawyers don't officially counter whether the documents the former president took are classified, then Dearie will side with the DOJ.

“As far as I'm concerned, that's the end of it,” he said.

Dearie, a semi-retired federal judge in Brooklyn who’s playing the role of temporary referee, wants to speed up the process and get federal agents back on track. And while Trump has been alleging on social media that he already declassified the records he swiped from the White House, Dearie is demanding that Trump put up or shut up. The senior judge is asking that Trump’s team assert—in sworn affidavits where lies could mean jail time—whether or not Trump actually declassified them.

I would think the judge wants to see those documents because some were used to deceive him into signing a FISA warrant He can also tell whether the classification was meant to cover up the crooked FBI thugs ie Comey, McCabe etc Such that there was really no need to classify the documents. As for the Confidential Human sources being named some of them have been known publicly making it unnecessary to classify a document that has Igor Danchenko telling FBI that all his stories were made up in a bar yet the FBI covers that and presents it to the same judge Dearie. Judges dont like being taken for a ride unless they were in cahoots (likely? ) And this judge is about to retire , He can swing both sides.
If there is a processfor a sitting President to declassify, that has not been made clear.
The DOJ does not want the judge to see the documents instead they want to upload them to a portal or a dashboard.
The DOJ redacted the affidavit they used to raid Trump residence to almost complete irrrelevance.
Maybe there is no document mentioning nuclear at all, or if there its a matter of common knowledge for instance its generally known the number of all nuclear warheads every country has , that would not be a classified document .

If you are selling a property, you overvalue it to get the best deal, If you want more money from a loan you overvallue the property , no property has a fixed price. These people believe Twitter and Reddit are accurate representations of the real world and conclude that your friend would hate you for supporting Trump. I hang with some ultra-progressive people and they know I don't buy into the 'orange man bad' or 'blame whites for all our problems' mentality. For 7 years running now the justice and intelligence systems of the US have been weaponized against one man for political reasons. Endless investigations that make you ask if he is so guilty why they find it so hard to just indict him and take him to court to properly defend himself? But of course it’s not about that. They don’t want to even give him that chance. It’s all about damaging him politically so he never runs again.

A step as drastic as raiding a former presidents house that should only be taken at the tail end of an investigation after you have already amassed enough evidence to indict him was instead taken to begin an investigation even some hosts on CNN could not believe it.

Investigations should be launched after identifying a crime to look for the culprits. But in Trumps case investigations are always launched with the sole purpose of finding a crime. Any crime what so ever. It’s real third world stuff but I believe the democrats will regret setting this precedent very dearly.
