Well most people apart from the extremely wealthy people in Africa worship God cause of poverty. Even I use to think when God said let there be light he was not referring to Africans probably the Whites. We are in total darkness in Africa phcn will seize light for almost 18hrs and there will be cool with it.

Your relationship with God is not measured by the frequency of your church attendance. It is personal. Their are principles to wealth creation and tye western nations are using these to better the lives of their people.

The level of atheistic belief doesn't determine the level of development. Spirituality and economic development can go hand-in-hand. The problem comes from the fact that Africans think they need God to provide the things that their leaders could easily provide for them.

We don't need God to fix our roads and drainages to reduce motor accidents and stop flooding. We don't need God to provide electricity to drive our industries and improve our lives. Let's put in the work as we serve God and do good to our neighbors. That's what God expects from us.

Yes, because he's the source of life. Without life, none of the achievements of man would have been possible. So, everything still comes from him, but he expects us to do what we can do with the gifts of knowledge and freewill he's given us.

I couldn't have cried it loud enough.
There exists a strong correlation between religiosity, poverty, crime, underdevelopment, hate, division and strife.

My dear we are just suffering for nothing.
If religion is a guide to heaven then majority of those practicing it are going to hell.
We better wake up to the reality of things going on around us before we end up a mess! On earth and in hell...
Am not supporting atheists in any way but all am saying is there is an element of truth in that write up, it's either we are not practicing the religion right or something is definitely wrong somewhere

Well, I way I see it, you can't plant a cactus tree and expect to harvest oranges from it.
Religion evolved from fear and ignorance of primitive humanity. From fear and ignorance. With fear and ignorance, you can get control and power over people. To maintain the power and control, you inject deceit, fraud and even more fear. And that becomes a self-perpetuating cycle. Religious beliefs are force-fed to us long before we are able to articulate our own thoughts. Thereafter, those beliefs hold us hostage for the rest of our lives.

Therefore, I think there is something generally and fundamentally wrong with religion and religious beliefs.

No matter how indoctrinated you are and no matter how young you were when it started, at a point in your life, as a thinking being, you need to stop and ask yourself some basic questions. If you cant do that, too bad for you. You are shackled in the worst kind of slavery: the slavery of the mind.
