What Bauchi is doing is similar to what Iran is doing and what many other muslim countries are doing...segregate the schools by gender. In Iran's case it led to an increase in girls in school...since their ultraconservative muslim dads had no more excuse. (After all your daughter would be going to school with other girls. No strange boys or men...so why keep her at home?)

3.Having said that...segregating schools by gender can be beneficial to women's education. When the Ayatollahs took over Iran in 1979, they segregated the schools up to tertiary level by gender....and with that, no one, most of all the ultraconservative muslim who won't send his daughter to school because she would mix with strange boys...had any more excuse not to send his daughter to school...so literacy among women went up.(The fact that the Ayatollah Khomeni's daughters were educated up to university too also helped).

We had Buhari, who was supposed to be the sharia candidate, and he has not done that at all. Tinubu did not segregate schools when he was Lasgidi overlord.

So he won't do that as president...plus primary and secondary schools are largely state run...federal government has nothing to do there (unity schools, and schools run by the armed and paramillitary forces,as well as university owned schools,and other institution staff schools excepted).
