A chieftain of the Labour Party, Prof. Pat Utomi, has said that the “desperate ambition” of the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Ahmed Tinubu, to become president is injurious to Nigeria’s democracy.

This is as he asserted that Tinubu is not fit and physically ailing.

Utomi made this known when he appeared on Channels TV Politics Today.

He said, “I don’t think the ambition of Tinubu is for the good of Nigeria. If I was his age, I wouldn’t be seeking political office at his age, certain things are good for certain times. Why is it his turn? What about other people in Nigeria?

“If there is any ‘Emilokan’ (translated in Yoruba as I am next) that is wrong, it is the Emilokan of Emilokan because Ko’kan (Not his turn).

“Our country has suffered so much from having ailing leaders and that was why the vice president stepped up because he thought there was a challenge to that principle and direction.

“Tinubu is not fit, physically you can see he is ailing, you can see it, let’s be true to ourselves, let him go through a medical that will be made public in Nigeria.”

The professor of political economy who also welcomed the endorsement of LP candidate Peter Obi by the Pan Yoruba group, Afenifere, said the organisation had affirmed its position as a moral authority in the nation.

“Afenifere has established, over a long period of time a commitment to being principle-centered. it is hard, to begin with, that today. If anything, the challenge of politics today in Nigeria is that there has been a sign of politics without principles.

“All Nigerians can do is to admire and show respect for the leadership of Pa Adebanjo which is principle-centred.

“Afenifere constitutes a moral authority, and when you combine that moral authority with the fact that they have been able to build a clear alliance with PANDEF, Middle Belt Forum and together they have been speaking on this matter alongside Ohaneze Ndigbo. You see that there is a certain body of opinion in Nigeria who are major stakeholders who can say this is what is principled and this is what is right.”

This is an open secret. The cassava, garri and ewa nonsense yarning sick bullion vans druggie criminal have nothing to offer Nigeria except the selfish shouting of emilokan. I will keep on repeating this excerpt from the PUNCH newspaper:

"....If anything, Tinubu’s judgement on leadership selections is more than enough proof of his lack of managerial acumen. Those who believe that Tinubu has a peculiar skill for selecting worthwhile leaders should at least account for his prudence in fostering a crassly incompetent leader like Buhari, not once but twice! Buhari turned out to be a disaster during his first term, but Tinubu promoted him for a second term.

In 2015, Buhari was hardly a promising candidate, but things were not supposed to be this bad. The man did not solve any problem but worsened everything with his impotence and sadistic arrogance. That was a leader Tinubu helped install twice & we're supposed to trust his judgement again? No!

After the monumental disaster called Buhari, Nigeria cannot afford another leader whose driving motivation for the presidency is to merely fulfil a lifelong dream. Tinubu has a right to pursue his ambition but not at the expense of poor and long-suffering Nigerians already counting down to the days when Buhari’s nuisance will be escorted out of Aso Rock.

The 2023 election should be a turning point. Recruiting another bumbler as president jeopardises that chance. We can all agree that Nigeria deserves better than a candidate without a viable record of administrative success beyond the cheap propaganda retailed in the media and parroted by those who do not listen to their own thoughts before mouthing them

Tinubu is stronger than some youths. Say anything you like about BAT, once APC work hard towards 2023, they will still win.

If the right people had done the right thing in the service of the nation, we wouldn't be here talking or dragging back with nefarious syndromat, obsessionist of self aggrandizement otherwise known in a coined manner and parlance of "emilokan".

We are behind but it's not too late. I do hope we get it right this time. However, despite the ill feeling towards a personality I do hope God with turn things around and work for the common good of the populace.

Tinubu is doing the right thing because he believes it is his turn to become president but Nigerians should be wise enough and let him know that Nigeria is different from UK that the heir to the throne is already known and not contestable.
Nigerians should be able to tell him to take care of his health as well.
Bottom line we need a physically sound person

If it's by turn by turn, then, for equity, justice, and fairness it should be the Igbo's turn represented by Peter Obi.
What you hear before now was 'Igbos are not united'! Now that they've queued behind Obi, what do you hear...?

With all due respect, Pat Utomi should shut up. As someone who has spent donkey years in Yoruba land, and has lived among Yorubas, if he doesn't understand the context in which Emilokan was used, then his education is a waste.

On another note, we are waiting for the macabre drama of accusations and counter accusations that will happen between him and his current "I no dey give shishi" buddy after the election, so he should save his energy.
