Nairobi is one greenest city - with half are green space
1) Nairobi National park -Animal park - with many zoos inside it
2) Uhuru park-central park - Jivanjee - all the way to westlands - are green spaces.
3) Karura forest
4) Ngong forest
5) Langata botanical garden
6) Langata Uhuru gardens.
7) Aborterum Park
cool City Park
10) Jamhuri park
...and many small other ones.

Try to compete with Nigerian slumcities...you have the same architect and city planners.

Just40:
By Western Standard as you like to say, it is one of the most decent butterfly sanctuary in the world.

What has that park in Nairobi got ? grin grin it is just a walk way with carpet grass
It doesn't have anything recreational there unlike the Aburi one where you can go QUAD bike riding and etc

What you have is a fertile forest with zero infrastructure and it’s a smack in the middle of your slumpolis. Never compare with New York that is bereft of animal poop but instead has everything luxury lying around ,from restaurants to bars, museums, clubhouses and the like’s

Nairobi slum park and New York Central Park in thesame sentence is just comic relief. Nothing more, there is absolutely nothing to compare.

Fourpockets:

Nice explanation.
Although I still think security wise, it won't be that easy.
I don't know about other African countries, but a lot of inter state roads in Nigeria are not that safe. Kidnappers regularly operate on those roads
Kidnappings on those roads have waned noticeably, Sir.

Osariemen12:

Stop trying to make Nigeria look perfect in the eyes of other Africans when we have numerous problems to fix. It's not in our own interest to pretend as if we are the best. What he said concerning insecurity on our highways is nothing but the truth. Outside this, national grid collapsed on Sunday leaving many states without power even now; it's not as if we had power before now. At least 583 out of the 774 local government councils in Nigeria are still without electricity. No Nigerian town, we don't have a place qualified to be called a city in the first place, has pipe borne water supplied by the water board. Individuals provide water for their household uses and those who can't afford to do so pay fellow poor Nigerians from the north who walk far distance to fetch water for them or do so themselves. 80% of my fellow Nigerians still do open defecation, particularly in southwest.

Our education system is in shambles. Lecturers are on strike even as I type with students involving themselves in different types of legal and illegal businesses and adventures. Our internet connections are the worst in Africa not because of the number of users but the available broadband which is not enough for one state is spread across 36 states and the federal capital territory. Our life expectancy as Nigerians is among, if not exactly, the lowest in Africa. Reason the dream of every Nigerian is to leave his country and celebrates when he does so. If you are a Nigerian you probably don't live in Nigeria now, just like I am typing from Abidjan as a Nigerian. Every none Nigerian on this thread will certainly affirm that Nigerian migrants to his country are the largest among African countries. Should I write on the poverty rate in Nigeria, especially the north? Hell no! What of out of school children? Internally displaced persons? Beggars who dot the streets and entrances of major shopping and religious centres? Kidnapping spree? Banditry? Prostitution among our poor women? Sport betting as the only job for the ever-growing youths? Thuggery and touting? The list is endless.

Why I am not in anyway trying to demarket Nigeria as my country, it is better we stop trying to place ourselves where we don't belong as a nation. We are among the worst. War torn Somalia might be better than Nigeria of today. At least I've been to many other African countries and none of them live the miserable lives obtainable in Nigeria. Even the person that made comments of Kenyans being behind Nigeria in everything is either living abroad or living in Nigeria as a politician. Ghana, Cote d'Ivoire, Gambia, Kenya, South Africa, Tanzania, Angola, Cameroon, Gabon, Zambia, Rwanda, etc are far ahead of us. Their past in economy, education, life expectancy, mortality rate, vaccinations, security expertise, power, housing, road networks, internet connection, among others, is our future. A distant future at that.

Fellow Africans, please ignore the verbosity of Nigerian typist here distorting facts about my country, some of them are probably schooling in Ghana or doing one business or another miles away from Nigeria. Anyone who survives the Nigeria's system won't find hell tormenting.

Below is a typical school setting in my country.
This doesn't call for any long debate. Like generaldae said, you are new here. AT the beginning of these threads(there was another one) I was also nearly deceived into believing Kenya was ahead of Nigeria. But these threads have opened my eyes to the facts that in spite of Nigeria's many problems, we are far better than many others. Kenya is worse than Nigeria in many aspects. Don't forget that the Kenyan society has to grapple with problems for 50 million citizens while Nigeria has to grapple with problems for about 200million very diverse populace. Where's the comparison to even start with? Yet Kenya is struggling against Nigeria here.

We've done comparisons on so many facts here, from hdi to meat and fish consumption, to number of doctors to 1000 citizens, to road network, to banking, to education, to foreign Remmitances, personal computers to 1000 people, to number of vehicles to 1000 citizens, etc. Even slums. grin Kenya is not doing well and in most cases is worse.

But I know people like you who feed fat on digging out Nigeria's bad side and never seeing anything good in Nigeria. We used to have a couple of your type here, one suffering and smiling guy and one obikeno-something liar of a guy. They kind of fizzled out.

I am already talking too much. grin
You posted a picture of some children under a tree studying, you didn't see the pictures of those in proper classes in government schools across Nigeria. Kontinue. Like I said, we know your type.

Meanwhile, the attached pictures are from Kenya. Show me such deprivations in Nigeria and I'll let you be.

Note: I am not mocking the poor Kenyans in the picture, Osaremein or whatever your name is, I just want you to see that picture and thank God for your blessings. If you are an economic refugee like you said, at least your old folks are still in rural Nigeria and I don't think they're anything like the people in those pictures.

You shouldn’t dignify people like that with a comment. It’s obvious when life throws a blow at them they begin to lash out at the govt. all that angst is understandable. We seen every other country national do worse to their individual countries here so I couldn’t be bother. He will be fine,he is just dealing with life at the moment
