Ayorinde Owolabi, the brother of a hotelier, late Olugbenga Owolabi, has said the United States of America gave the Nigerian government a time frame to find his killers.

PUNCH Metro had reported that Olugbenga and a worker at his hotel, Rachael Opadele, were abducted by gunmen at Ogbomoso, Oyo State.

They were killed by their abductors on August 3.

Olugbenga, a US citizen, was said to be living in Maryland, US, and decided to invest in hospitality business in his hometown, Ogbomoso.

It was learnt that the hotel was opened in December 2021 and he was abducted and killed a few months after.

His funeral held on October 1 at the Trinity Life Church, Maryland, US.

Ayorinde, who spoke to our correspondent on Monday, said the American government asked the Department of State Services to bring his brother’s killers to justice.

He said, “The American government wanted evidence and they came down here to do a post-mortem. Another post-mortem was done in the US before the burial. The case was presented at the United Nations meeting which was just concluded.

“They have given the Nigerian government a time frame to get the perpetrators; the instruction was given to the DSS office, but up till now, no arrest has been made. They already have the facts that herdsmen were behind the killing.

“The American government took his body from LAUTECH back to the US. A death certificate was obtained at the LAUTECH teaching hospital and also at the Delaware State Military Hospital, USA.”

Proof 'one Nigeria' Buhari and co are trying to keep in place is dead and just a term for 'might is right' domination of all Nigerians.

If we keep 'one Nigeria' in place, as some want, then we are only maintaining a system for the abuse of an over-powerful Presidency, not subject to modern checks-and-balances that obtain worldwide, very discriminatory and bigoted individuals can abuse once able to become President of Nigeria.

Buhari got there and I fully supported him to do so. I regret it today especially because of the many needless death Buhari's clearly partisan administration of Nigeria has caused.

That is why I will forever now back devolution of power away from the centre, towards States and region of Nigeria, as the only way forward.

Folks should read the article below to note how fcked we are and why we should all be fighting to extricate ourselves from 'one Nigeria', by voting those who can help us achieve that, instead of making the upcoming election about tribalism and clannish support for our kinsmen.

Should Nigerians not be questioning Tinubu, Atiku, Obi and Kwankwaso about what is shown below instead of posting idiocy about massive crowd and exercise bikes up and down?

137 unmanned borders brutal killers from across Africa can penetrate Nigeria through?

Yet we are focusing on Big brother Naija and football skills of Presidential candidates? Only God can deliver Nigerians from themselves.

“More men should be recruited to man these borders to stop or prevent infiltration by terrorists in Chad and Niger Republic where the present administration of President Muhammadu Buhari has shown obvious sympathy.

The only reason why I have soft spot for Tinubu is because if wants, he can restructure this country without much opposition. He doesn't fear the north or the south. He also has that craftiness. He has the braveness to confront hydras and hyenas of Nigeria one on one without being diplomatic or being politically correct, something Peter Obi lacks. Peter, though is a good man, but he will be so concerned with making Nigeria work with her present constitution and structure, instead of dismantling it–which is the underlying issue, and by dismantling it solves the issue. And again, Tibubu's age and health is one factor that scares me, he may not fulfill that even if he wanted because of his health and age.

First time i'm hearing of this! Probably because it didn't happen in Anambra or Imo....so the usual suspects can run with the false narrative that 'IPOB killed him', with threads created that'll run into 10 pages or more....all filled with admonitions on how 'IPOB brought carnage to the south-east', and questions asked like 'is this how they will run their Biafra?', and you'll see daft statements like 'Peter Obi is not fit to be president....see what's happening in his region!'

He could do that 15 years ago. He is old with many geriatric health issues..
