US is directly fighting Russia here and Russia is not Afghanistan.
Remember, when US used to produce massive weapons in numbers was during the Soviet union.. When they achieved their aim of collapsing Soviet union, they drastically reduce the production number.
They didn't see this coming now and they didn't know it would drag this long. Even Russia is feeling the heat.
