That is not the subject matter. Anybody can be robbed of his mandate by the military. The point here is that a person can win an election anywhere based on his or her popularity to the electorate.

That is not true, historically.
I am from Kano state, Abiola won many northern states against Bashir Tofa who was a northerner. Obasanjo won many northern states in both 1999 and 2003.
In the recent APC primaries. Many northern delegates voted Tinubu against Ahmed Lawan.
You will see how Atiku will lose many states in the North. Write this date.
