You need to carry out physical checks on the wiring on the transmission. There are two sensors on top the transmission and it has two wires each which plugs into the sensors via sockets. Have a multimeter and read the conductivity of the wires. If it registers, it’s fine. Proceed to the sensor and check the resistivity of the sensor any reading outside 60-680 Ohms range, you replace the sensor.

It’s more of a professional job and less of a DIY job.

So I got a gear master to check the wiring on the transmission.

According to him, the brain box had been changed and the wiring wasn't done well. That was the cause of the P0717 error code.

So he fixed it and the error code has disappeared.

But the only problem I have is the gear not still entering 4.

When I'm on 100 km/hr, the RPM gets at high as 4000 and doesn't shift to the last gear which makes the revving sound so high.

What do you think the problem could be?

Rescan the engine and transmission for codes again and post here.

Also, have it at the back of your mind, if the ECU was replaced previously and the right ecu wasn’t used, you may be having this issue. Post your VIN and I’d decide it and search online to show you a sample of the matching ECU type(s) for your car.

Also when my engine is fired on idle, there's this clunking sound from the engine.
Mechanic told me the engine block will need to be opened, that my cylinder 4 isn't compressing. That there's current flowing through the coil to the wire.
So please I'll need an insight so as not to get undone by a greedy mechanic.
He also talked about the crankshaft possibly needing cutting or something else which I can't recall.

Please I need advise and a possible cost of the different items he might want to use.

Pla I use opel zafira and have been battling with my timing belt which always cutting. Pls I have bought timing belt several especially the new belt yet the cutting didn't stop. Initially I discovered the timing cover around the down area got burnt and developed a sharp object which has been cutting the belt from down but the mechanic has reshaped it but just yesterday after coming out of a mighty water on the road the belt cuts again. The mechanic conformed the kulley and water pump and others to be okay. The vehicle is a year old. Is tokunbo. Pls I don't no where to run to

THE MECHANIC Said it's 13 0in he changed it to 10 pin... Now gear won't go to reverse unless I first pull to drive then reverse.

I told him Oyinbo that made 13 pin for the car are not stupid...


Please what do you advice.. This guy is frustrating me.. Car was with him for a whole month before this crazy work... I can't even drive it around as I am afraid of further damage.. I just parked in my office. I have spent over 300,000 naira fixing.

Okay let me see if I can epp you small. Call your kazeem to check the alignment of the PRND switch. If it works fine.

I recently observed after driving my civic 08 for an hour or 2 and parking the car, upon starting the car 2-5 minutes after, the throttle will refuse to pick regardless of how hard I press it. It will only rev sluggishly while in park mode.
The throttle starts responding again after reigniting the car. Is this a failing gear problem please?

Wanna ask a question please.
How does one know his break is binding? Sometime two months ago, I was on 3rd mainland when I saw my car give me a prompt 'check break system'.
Since then I have changed break pads and yet that message comes up. And my fuel consumption is up.
How does one explain to kazeems to check for binding breaks?

The engineers and designers who designed and installed the particular transmission in YOUR CAR did it on purpose. YOUR mechanic coerced YOU to change YOUR VEHICLE’s transmission from 13pin to 10pin for reasons known him which although, YOU Initially showed some resistance, but bulged into HIS suggestion.

Now tell me, is this NOT a one chance or you want me to tell you it’s a mistake on YOUR mechanic’s part or on YOUR own part?


I guess YOU loved it and YOU didn’t find it insulting when YOUR mechanic rendered YOUR car immobile for over a month only to come to an online forum and start to define what an insult and a nauseous feeling is or is not.

It may interest you to know, the chance laid before you is 20/80. YOU may end up spending more money to ensure the car attains a ‘’managable’ state to move around or even replace that transmission and redo the wiring again.
