About state and community policing, I have a problem with that.

In my opinion, I think we need more ekelebe, but well trained for any community that they will be posted to. They also need pay raise with some bonus pay. Their cars needs cameras. and they just need constant overall training.

The leaders of the ekelebes, need to be creative and strategic. For example, if I am the leader, I am not going to be posting people places and leaving them in one post for too long. So, if i post somebody to Lagos, the first two weeks, they will have training and updates on various crime issues and studies in Lagos, then I disperse them around the state, if you were in oshodi for a week or two, then I will remove some people from that oshodi unit and send them to badgary for another 2 weeks, then give them 4 days break, then I send you to yaba or ikeja for a week or two, then agege after that. Knowing that this movement will be the case, you will get transport allowance, lunch or dinner break allowance, and even housing allowance in places we approve. is more detailed than that, but this is the tip of the iceberg strategy.

we should not make the mistake of doing community policing, it will end up dividing people, increasing tribal and community conflicts, and even starting factions.

I would suggest training and hiring some more, including cids, and others. Then strengthening what you already have, making them very professional in times of danger and peace times.

Sometimes, a few is better. Then increase the technology infrastructure for the departments.
