If the Russians were bloodthirsty like the Americans they would have fought this war shock and awe style like the Americans did in Iraq. The Americans bombed everything from the air and decimated Iraqis infrastructure for weeks before sending in ground troops, killing thousands of Iraqi civilians. Putin have been very restrained in destroying Ukraine infrastructure that he was coming under criticism in Russia for being weak, a guy like the former president Medvedev would have bombed Ukraine back to the stone age.

When one fights a conventional war the first objective is air superiority and Russia has been unable to achieve that despite fighting across its border. The weapon that has turned the war in favor of Ukraine (HIMARS) was developed in 1990. If Russia does not have jamming capabilities for a 1990 weapon. That tells people Russia does not have any conventional military capabilities at all. I guess with a military budget of S95B I am not too surprised.
