If the Russians were bloodthirsty like the Americans they would have fought this war shock and awe style like the Americans did in Iraq. The Americans bombed everything from the air and decimated Iraqis infrastructure for weeks before sending in ground troops, killing thousands of Iraqi civilians. Putin have been very restrained in destroying Ukraine infrastructure that he was coming under criticism in Russia for being weak, a guy like the former president Medvedev would have bombed Ukraine back to the stone age. The fact that it took 7 months to bomb their electricity infrastructure tells you how retrained Russia is, the Americans would have bombed your electric plants and water supply systems from day one, let me see you resisting with all your country with no light and water.
