Please can you be objective:

Dangote Cement entered the agreement to purchase Obajana Cement with Kogi state government, not Federal Government.

The land where the limestone, which is the major input material, is being obtained is Kogi land despite that the resource is under the control of Federal Government. In the Niger Delta, the state government earns significant royalty on crude oil obtained from state land and waters, Federal Government claims full royalty on the crude oil obtained from Federal Government waters.

If Dangote Cement bought 90% shares off Kogi state government, they are expected to have paid for the shares to the state government hence, they should show evidence of payment otherwise, that acquisition is null and void in itself.

Dangote Cement should have transfered the ownership of 10% shares of Dangote Cement, Kogi, to Kogi state government when it rebranded as Dangote Cement. Dangote Cement should also have been paying dividend to Kogi state government over the years on the 10% share ownership but they obviously have not been paying it.

In the area of community social responsibility, Dangote Cement has performed poorly in Kogi state and they have to be compelled to improve their CSR contribution.

There are a lot of legal issues with the procedure, documentation and agreement on the acquisition of Obajana Cement by Dangote Cement from Kogi state government. We must look into it and justice must be done.

The essence of creating an economic environment to revolve around just a single individual is questionable!

Nigerians were sold a dummy that by privatizing state assets to private individuals like Dangote, prices would come crashing down.

Whosai?

The contrary has been the result so far!

When the Dangote Refinery goes into operation, the same scenario would stare Nigerians in the face.

To make matters worse, he connives with some shady individuals to shortchange Nigerians, even state governments like Kogi State as it is in this case.

This man is Shylock's incarnate!

Stop misleading people! Dangote is not the one who made Bello to misgovern Kogi state.

1) Dangote has clearly been paying taxes and royalties to Kogi state government since inception despite a promised 7 years tax relief that was never honored by the state.

2) The limestone belongs to the FG and not Kogi state. They are already payed their taxes and royalties.

3) What 10% shares, when there was no company? So Nigeria air that exists only on paper and has a logo is an existing coy if it doesn’t bring capacity in the future? The state retained an option to buy 5% stake after inception but never followed up on it. Are they supposed to be given free shares?

4) The land on which the factory sits was fully bought by Dangote and compensation duly paid to the host community.

5) Dangote has backed up these assertions with documents in public spaces. Bello is a failure that wants to whip up public sentiments after performing woefully as a governor.

6) What exactly did KSG bring into the fora? They formed a coy on paper and could not even conceptualize it since 1992 until Dangote was brought in by 2002 to make it a reality.

If an agreement says 10% of a company’s share is reserved for you but you need to exercise that right by paying for the shares within a certain period and you refused to activate that right within the stated period, who should be blamed?

Other than media propaganda emotional tantrums, has Kogi state shown evidence of payment for the 10%? Why has the state refused to nominate a director to sit on the board of the company since inception?

cement is sold via dealership and Dangote cement is not only produce in Kogi but in benue and ogun and 13 Africa Nation like wise it produce in gombe and sokoto . Kano citizens are enterprenures and NOT LAZY like kogi people and will buy trucks and pay million for Dangote cement dealership to bring in supply from the above source Making it cheaper. State own 10 percent of a company in brief case and with zero asset ( so where will the profit come from ?) Theives . limestone is owed by the federal government of Nigeria and Dangote has no business with rubber stamp kogi state assemble that should be thinking on how to tackle flood .

LOL! You are so clueless. Why would Kogi state government pay for the 10% when it is Kogi state government that is offering 90% shareholding of Obajana Cement to Dangote Cement Coy.

They had shareholders, on behalf of the state, and directors on the board of Obajana Cement, which should ordinarily have been transferred to the registration documents of Dangote Cement, Kogi, when Dangote chose to rebrand it. Dangote Cement obviously did not do that, they simply reregistered it as 100% shares-owned by Dangote Cement Coy.

An agreement was not fulfilled and company operated for over a decade?

You are talking about a state government and multinational company. How possible is that!

In the first place, it’s outrightly impossible for Dangote to have start operating in state without due process, and putting into consideration the duration, it shows some class of people are just hungry.

A multinational like Dangote pays attorneys monthly, and definitely would know legal implications of contracts and agreements.

Let’s imagine it was fraudulently acquired, why wouldn’t Kogi state government head to court, instead of using thugs.

This is a frequent thing in the oil and gas industry even after all fulfillments have been met, they keep bringing different claims year-in year-out.
