About to rewatch Knight and Day...someone here recommended it...
Can't remember anything about it so I'm rewatching

No Mercy was recommended by someone here.
A Korean movie...
But there seem to be 2 different movies by that title...
A 2010 own and a 2019 own

Can the person clarify, I can't find the post. Which one?

Hunt (2022)....8/10

The plot moves at a breakneck speed that if you brink you'll miss something important.
Action packed spy thriller from Korea.

Can you recommend any Crime, Thriller series for me

This isn't Snow White...
It's just another garbage feminist/progressive crap

Heard that Disney confirmed a while ago that they were cutting the dwarves with faeries because a short guy complained that the original movie was offensive to short people.

Lol
Good

Pulp fiction (1994)....10/10

I decided to watch some classics after I saw the ChainsawMan reference of them

This movie is damn crazy...
Follows the story of several characters and how they interconnect, but the story is not told chronologically

Movies like these show why Hollywood is revered as the best...
Unfortunately nowadays it's only Superheroes movies and woke trash that Hollywood seems to produce...

Sad.

I watched this movie when I was young. Funny movie.

It's something to watch when you have nothing to do and want to laugh at its ridiculousness

Wrong.

In my opinion, people that says Hollywood don't produce quality and original content unlike before are objectively not being honest with themselves.

Thwy just focus on the big budget, popular movies and assume that's the sum total of films being released.
That's why there's movies made for box office and there's Oscar worthy films.

Ask yourself this question: how many of these movies from last year/ this past Oscar awards have you watched?
From November, that's when you start seeing thought provoking movies cos summer time is over.

Hunt...... 7.5/10

Nice spy thriller from Korea. The pacing of the movie moves at supersonic speeds that you'd easily get confused if don't pay attention well or slow down your watch. End to end action from start to finish.

Rating would have been higher but for their below average definition of locations (at times you struggle to tell when you're in Korea or not, or in Washington) as well as the problem identifying who's who and on which side. It only gets clearer at the end.

Ironically when most of us were younger, we actually loathed such movies. The film na Bestseller film na Oscar film. That's what we used to call them
Or to quite beavis and butt head, why watch some boring movie about some English dude when you can watch an action movie with lots of gunshots and explosions.

RRR (2022).............8.5/10

When I noticed that it was the same director that directed Bahubali, I was having the urge to watch the movie and I wasn't disappointed, coupled with the positive online ratings. I think Indian movie industry means business now—this movie is the most expensive indian movie, made with a budget of $72 million and also it has grossed around $150 million so far, making it a boxoffice smasher.

This movie is enthralling, with ballistic thrill ride, filled with heart, jokes, and some of the best action scenes I have ever seen.
If you have seen Bahubali, endeavor to watch this movie.

Promising Young Woman (2020)....... 8.5/10

One of the prime content from Hollywood in recent memory. Moves at a slow pace at first but the plot comes together as you progress.
It's a dark satire and provocative tale on gender politics and the complexities of rape culture.

The twist at the end is one damn deathly sombre moment.
Acting brilliance from Carey Mulligan. I never thought she had it in her.
She thoroughly deserved that Best Actress nomination — a career defining performance.

This is brilliant coming from Emerald Fennel, especially when you find out this is the director's first feature project as well as writing.
She better come good for Zatanna.

Nowadays these movies are so unknown...they have poor marketing and are easily drowned by the hype of subpar popcorn movies

Not really. If you weren't a BIG director like Martin Scorsese, FFC or Nolan you'd have a hard time getting your film noticed if it ain't a blockbuster.

Nowadays, ppl just want entertaining fare in theatres also the downturn in economy for generally the whole world hardly makes it convenient for anyone to go to a movie without being entertained and cracking your head to get some things. Prime reason why adult dramas and straight up comedies have been struggling in box office for past 4yrs.
In as much as I like thought provoking movies, I very well know if I'm being honest I won't spend my money on a cinema watch if it ain't a blockbuster, my favourite franchise etc.

I'll just wait and enjoy the content later with the ability to fast forward or backtrack as I want. cheesy

These movies ain't really unknown if you deep in Hollywood chatter. It just escaped your radar especially being Nigerian.

I've been trying to watch this movie for two weeks now but the screen time and my state of mind always dissuade me.

Young man, the world is governed by revenue. Which of these two movies would you be inclined to promote as the CEO of Netflix? The Gray Man that swallowed $200 million or The Lost Daughter that needed less than $1,000,000. Surely, the one with the larger budget will receive more promotion, but that does not necessarily imply that it is superior to the latter, do well to remember that. Promotion and hype do not guarantee a quality film. It simply means that they have to recover the money spent on manufacturing that garbage.

As for trash movies vomited by the film industry, it has become a worldwide epidemic, it's not limited to Hollywood. You guys are being ridiculous when you contrast the few decent films you've seen from other industries with Hollywood productions that were intended to perform well at the box office (there are other factors that should come into consideration). Even your reviewers on YouTube and other social media platforms are making things worse because they only choose films that they are confident will reach the large audiences.

They drop their trashy reviews, you do the same, and the cycle continues. In the end everything that came out of Hollywood is bad because no one cares about a movie they didn't even hear about (you can't blame them though). The main issue with Hollywood is that they spend money on subpar movies that they then advertise, giving them a terrible reputation in general. That's all.
