And yet I am inclined to think that the only really clear, simple and rational reason that Putin refrains from harsh actions, and when he opt for them, he immediately stops – until the next emergency situation – is that he does not want to destroy the “Non-Aligned Movement”.

That is, a conditional coalition of states that do not exactly support Russia – it’s not possible to say that – but still play a big role in creating “ambiguity”, both diplomatic and sanctions, each in their own way. And even, maybe, a coalition of states and individual bright personalities.

Trump and Musk, the Saudi prince and the Emirates, India and China, Orban and Vucic, partly Israel (especially if Bibi returns), a fair part of Latin America, Transcaucasia and Central Asia, and, of course, Sultan Erdogan.

None of them individually can provide Russia with a political result, but taken together, they create a well-marked background.

And – so, perhaps, they think in the Kremlin – it will take another month, two, three, and some from this list, or even many at once, will become battering rams of negotiations and the completion of their own on decent terms.

But if all these countries and all these people are confronted – loudly and spectacularly, and this will be provided by the global media machine – with the total destruction of Ukraine’s infrastructure and the corpses of the Ukrainian leadership, then the desire of the so-called “Anglo-Saxons” to convince them to abandon Moscow may suddenly come true.

And even without the Anglo-Saxons: is it nice for a big boss from the non-Western world to look at Zelensky’s corpse, to which a missile flew from the sky?

Unlikely. And not at all from Ukrainophilism, which does not exist.

But because this nasty ending is involuntarily projected onto oneself (“and if the Houthis do this to me”, “and if Taiwan does this to me”, “and if the tigers liberate something there as well”).

That’s why, it seems to me, everything is going the way it is.

If you do not have anything better to offer rather than attack, kindly move on to the next thread. You don't have to comment on every thread.
Perhaps not this one. Be civil at minimum. Attacking is a sign of weakness but not strength.

Yes, Ukraine should have never started what it could not finish. Please stop commenting with your emotions on a thread that is for only adults.
