At least they give them hostel.

I am from Imo state but based in Lagos.

I just got admitted into Ogun State College of Nursing Sciences, Ijebu-ode. School started this month. They give Hostel Accommodation to Females only. They don't give males hostel. Talk about Gender Discrimination Against Males.

Getting an Apartment to rent outside close to the school is now expensive cos landlords capitalise on the fact that the school doesn't give males hostel.

I have been going from Lagos to Ijebu-ode like twice a week.

When I complained to my principal, all she could say was "If you miss class for 28 days, Nursing And Midwifery Council of Nigeria will ask you to repeat a year". She ended by saying "God will help you in Jesus name". And she walked away.

This is the only Nursing School in Nigeria that don't give hostel to males.

If I had known this, I wouldn't have even gone through the stress of applying into the school.

Right now, I have began to dislike Ijebu-ode and Ogun state as a whole.

Yet, some idiots wonder why (after paying a lot , and studying under degrading conditions) Nurses and Doctors continue migrating to "more favorable" climes.

Almost everybody wan setup new university + nursing school, but no one is interessted in setting up companies, industries and hospitals where the graduates will work, earn and add value to the society.

For the clowns talking about federal schools and low tuition, why are you not agitating that the govt should build more, well equipped (fed) hospitals, and ensure the welfare of the healthcare workers?

Nigerian entrepreneurs are very lazy - schools, universities and religious centres are easy setup Low cost or no maintenance. All you require is desperate people

Nigerians are inherently greedy and corrupt!

After all the exorbitant charges, managers of these schools would rather utilize the funds for self gratification--building private houses for themselves, buying the latest cars in town and flying their own children abroad for education.

Same thing is happening in private primary and secondary schools. Proprietors of such schools collect humongous school fees only to employ barely qualified teachers who they pay peanuts as salary.
