Sunak, UK's 57th PM, is the first British-Asian & the second youngest in over 200+ years.

Rishi Sunak has become Britain’s next Prime Minister after meeting with King Charles III, who asked him to form a new Government.

Sunak, 42, emerged the only valid Nomination as leader of the Conservatives Party on Monday, 24th October.

Earlier, outgoing Prime Minister Elizabeth Truss had submitted her resignation as "Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury" to the King at Buckingham Palace.

This is the first time the King will be inviting a PM to form a new Government, his mother did it the last time - On 6th September.

Congratulations to the new Prime minister. Now is the time to get to work and unite the party and country. I like the tone of his speech. He did not make any out of the world promises but he assured the people that the mistake of the Strauss era will be fixed and painful decisions would be made.

He acknowledged that the economic challenges of the UK is linked to the effect of covid-19 and the devastating war between Russia and Ukraine that has disrupted the global energy market and supply chain. If this excuse is made in Nigeria, noisemakers will tell us to stop giving excuses as if Nigeria is immune to global problems.

Rishi Sunak is not a Christian despite the fact that over 90% of British people are Christians and nobody is talking about Hindunizing the Uk. It’s all about competency and getting things done. We must learn from this and stop making political decisions in Nigeria from religious prisms.
