Ironsi never organized any coup! On the contrary, Ironsi stopped the Jan 15th 1966 coup on its tracks. Coup was already a success until he stepped in. Everything is not all about ethnic hate! You are always juggling facts to suit your warped and narrow tribal narratives! You can do better. Several individuals who participated in those events are still alive today and have NEVER accused Aguiyi Ironsi of any sort of involvement in the coup.

Olusegun Obasanjo who just returned from a military course in England was in the same apartment with Chukwuma Nzeogwu on the night of the coup. Obasanjo was the man who would later convince his friend Nzeogwu to leave Kaduna and fly down to Lagos to meet Ironsi after Ironsi crushed the coup in Lagos. Nzeogwu was promptly arrested at the tarmac once his plane landed in Lagos!

Both Obasanjo who tricked Nzeogwu to Lagos and Danjuma who led the soldiers that killed Ironsi have NEVER accused Ironsi of sponsoring or involvement in a coup. It's the South West media that are deliberately dropping such inuendos! The northern officers accused him of not being decisive in terms of conducting trials for the coupists. That to them was his crime. You are the ones accusing Ironsi of coup plotting.

Maybe ironsi didn't plan the Jan.15th coup but he definitely had foreknowledge of the coup. So too did Ojukwu and also fajuyi.

There were just too many coincidences as per why ibo politicians and military personnels escaped the bloodletting occasioned by ifeajuanna and his murderous crew.
