I remember my trip to malta. The landing and taking off close to the sea had my heart in my mouth. It is a bautiful place and one destination for my honeymoon hopefully.

The fact that they speak English makes it a lot more fun.

I agree friend, speaking English was a big reason why i chose this country for my vacation.

I love the well detailed pictures information about Malta, I love seeing pictures of beautiful places like this, it excites me and reignites my Japa ambitions and also an opportunity for me to learn one or two things about traveling abroad.

I never knew some flights within Europe can be that cheap as low as € 30? shocked shocked

Thank ma'am for taking your precious time to share this amazing and educative experience with us. I am so grateful for this post.

I just followed you @Mstravlindiva

Awww, thank you kindly friend. Yes if you can get to a major hub like London or Frankfort for example, airlines such as Ryanair, Easyjet, Wizz and Norwegian have flights as low as €15 each way throughout Europe. I think I paid €40 round trip on Ryanair to Budapest from Prague back in 2020.

I’m so glad you found this thread helpful. Keep your head up! Peace and blessings to you and your family!

Domt mind me asking but does the night life include Strippers, like a red light district where hookers do business?

No offense taken, I have no idea. Nightlife consisted of bars, live music and dancing. That’s what I experienced… was looking for… and thankfully that’s all I saw.

Safe travels friend!

This is how life and living is suppose to be. Visit different locations around the world. Not born here, die here. Traveling/tourism is bae!

Indeed friend, travel is my love language and never disappoints.

Take care and be well!

Hello @Mstravelindiva,

Your travel diary brings back memories of my 4-month stay in Malta as an exchange student in late winter/spring of 2021.

Unfortunately, your assertion that it is a friendly country to migrants and refugees is wrong and I just thought to point that out. During my stay, I also volunteered with two organisations working with refugees and the experience wasn't pleasant. In fact, I don't like to relive my experience, particularly of my visit to the detention center, as well as to Hal Far open center. Besides, a week stay in any country as a tourist cannot help anyone reach such a conclusion. These are realities that tourists don't know. My experience on a 10-day visit to Paris was definitely different from my 3-month experience working with refugees in Calais and Dunkerque in Northern France.

I hope you get what I mean. Nonetheless, Malta is a beautiful country to visit! Nice to know that you enjoyed your trip.

Friend, I’m sorry you didn’t have a good experience. I had a great experience and many immigrants that I spoke with while there shared the same sentiments. No Malta isn’t perfect, but compared to other European countries they felt it was a lot better. Again, this was my experience as a tourist and other immigrants that were kind enough (yet candid) to share their experience and journey with me.

That being said, I’m certainly not discrediting your experience but simply sharing my perspective during my visit. Peace and blessings friend!

Mdina (silent city) city entrance
why is Mdina called the silent city?

BTW having lived in a third world country all my life, I mostly appreciate the beauty of countries with an overwhelming technological and modern architecture like the USA,UK,Canada and co...

I'm not saying Malta isn't beautiful. I'm only writing from my own perspective..Maybe when I'm chanced to live in a country like the USA for several years, I will be able to appreciate the beauty better..

.

This name was originally coined when the capital city was moved out of Mdina and into what is modern day Vittoriosa. This movement left Mdina so uninhabited that people started to consider it to be like a ghost town, and the silent city nickname was born.

next time when you guys travel, try to ask the locals about their cost of living there so we will know what country to retire to

There's a website for that. Tell you cost of living, school fees, rent and everything you need to know
