I was 7 when Abacha died and prior to his death, I felt the effects of his tyrannical governance cause it affected my family and the parents consistently spoke plenty of it during family moments.

You can't wake up and invalidate someone's experiences and opinions. Because you were stupid at 14 doesn't mean someone else had to be same. And you obviously grew with that stupidity anyway.
