Though USA and EU usually interfere, but normally if majority of the people are not good people they can be easily be influenced by external forces. Just like in Nigeria presently some politicians have started deceiving people and many of them will fall for it be because they are mostly bigots, tribalistic and religious fanatics. Then when things goes south they start blaming USA and politicians, meanwhile they the masses are wicked by intentionally voting misfits to pepper certain region of the country. I feel like most times, cultural practices of a place affects religion. Taking northern Nigeria for example, their local cultural practices is being added to their religion. Those countries should check themselves and find out why religious extremism is rampant there.
