If you have swimming pool in your house and you have children...

This is how your swimming pool should look like.

This mentality of What Will Be Will Be that some people have, thereby neglecting to do the needful, can prove costly at times.

Basically, accidents happen when we fail to identify hazards & put appropriate barriers against same.

The door of that little net might at one time or the other be opened and kids will definitely stroll in so anything can still happen. It's best if the pool is entirely separated from the building.

I think the right expression is "a child that will drown will drown". No child wants to drown.

Parents being careless does not matter. A kid that will drown will drown that's how you reason?

I was only correcting his expression and that doesn't suggest I agree with them. But thinking about it now, that expression doesn't necessarily mean people should be careless. It simply means "accidents happen". It is an applied version of the saying "what will be will be" which doesn't mean you shouldn't work hard to take control of an outcome but simply means you can only do your best. We can't possibly say for sure the kid wasn't properly taken care of just because he happened to be a victim of this unfortunate event.

The most protected kids still get into accidents. It only takes a second or two. Even with adults around, a kid could hit a glass door while running around and injure themself. It could happen just when you decide look down and tie your shoelaces. Can you think of sometime time in the past when a kid fell of the edge of the bed while playing? It's more or less the same. The difference is the intensity of the accident. When it hasn't happened to us before, we believe it could never happen and we authoritatively criticize others. But the truth is que sera sera.

PS: Don't call people "stupid" just to make a point.

Better to avoid having one at home if you have kids less than 15 years old.

If they want to swim, they can do so in public swimming pools where there are adults watching them.

Cos my my restless daughter will climb that fence somehow somehow.

Children can still climb that fence and gain entry.

The best solution is a pool alarm.

The sensors detect unauthorized entry and will trigger the alarm to let people know someone is in the pool.

A pool alarm is the best especially for large houses with plenty of space.

Simple, cheap solutions that can save life

You don’t need a pool in your house, you can’t always be there to monitor everything going on
