What kind of corrolla are you using? the bank type or the classic 03-06 model.

My advice :
Move forward.. Don't look back . This is just a teething phase, you will get over it. When a door closes, another door has opened.
AC will just give you better clients not that you won't still make money on the streets , I'm not talking of Uber and Bolt....

Anybody who wants to make money through transport in Abuja and depends solely on Uber and Bolt will never grow....
It's the classic model. Corolla sport.
What other way do you advice please, not uber or bolt

Been laughing since I saw your comment. Even me didn't believe it the next morning when I saw I didn't put gear on P before stopping the engine. My tired was tired. And all through the night even in my dreams I was wondering what could have happened.

My advise to desmonddessi, relax you'll sort it out. It's your car. Last last you'd register on Indriver and raise money to buy compressor.

When I took that car to mechanic to have the brakes fixed and on leaving there, AC was also not working and then car refused to start and I could not take the car from there my head nearly caught fire. I could not sleep overnight. I got there the next day and was raking for everybody. Last last the problem was fixed and we all became friends. Just chill. It will be alright.

Reason with the technicians, and explain your situation to them. They will help you out.

Thanks man, my night was a long one. Going there this morning to see what we can do

You should have followed this advice. Well the deed is done, as someone suggested, get a loan. I will suggest you fix only if you are not able to raise enough to buy another compressor, but still work towards buying another sooner or later. I wish you all the best

Thanks, I had some savings. Didn't know I was going to be charged that much for the compressor. I thought I was just going to be filling it or something

I'll address some issues tonight before going to bed. Life journey nah ups and down, twists and turns. This decision you've made it already , unless you can go back to undo your wee. Firstly, I'll advice you to brace up, you are in for a ride and if it comes ease on you, we thank thy lord.

To everyone here thinking of saying goodbye to their jobs and focus on this hustle, please have some money as bail out before jumping ship. As good as a car may sound, it may still take money from you when you least expect.

And to my boss, please do not rush your decision, I pray you have a ease way, but I am more of a realist. Challenges will come, it is how you stand against them that makes you a man. Calm down, tell the AC person to check thro things that will solve the whole AC issue, and try to sought it out once. Going back and forth on AC issue can drain the soul and replace vital parts in the body with HBP.

I hear this, but one part of me is saying go back to your job and another part is telling me to see this through. Like I'm in the middle. One of the reason I left was having time for myself. Going back and continuing that lifestyle is somehow and for how long?

I'm beaten in a way.

Lol boss my storyline never change o. cheesy 600k monthly is what bolt themselves use to deceive the gullible.

Sooner or later reality will show up like this dude wey just quit his job.

I’ll keep preaching that this hustle is at best a side gig. Don’t go and piss on your boss’s head like BAZOO will say and jump into e-hailing full time.

Okay, I have heard your opinion

If they can still accept you at your workplace, pls go back and save up for the repairs of your car. Don't put yourself in loan mess!
You need to change the compressor (manual) completely and also the condenser. They will give off the gas completely and refill. It may cost you btw 100 to 140k, depending on your negotiation. Compressor alone is about 55k.

After fixing your car, still don't quit your job. You can do uber/bolt during weekends(sat/sun). Work on building a career. E-hailing is not a career. Gather experience from your workplace, do some prof courses relating to your career, then apply to other better companies where there's career growth.

You won't be able to do it.. You strike me like a cool gentleman...

70k in Abuja is like 130-140k in Lagos... You even have a car, that's like 2k daily without stress, that's why I'm surprised you left.

I will tell you this.
Go and look for experienced cab guys, how do you know such, their cabs are always clean and neat? They do strictly "drops and not along" they will give you the necessary orientation you need to survive without Bolt or Uber. Sample opinion of 3 or 4 drivers.
They will even recommend good tech guys and mech they use.

Don't start without seeking the advice of those guys. Follow what they tell you.

Goodluck.

I don't know how long u have owned the car, but let me give u some advise.
Before u start repairing something in a car, find out how much the replacement is...if repairing cost is more than 50% of replacement, then it's not worth repairing just change it.
Secondly, don't allow mechanic or technician to add or subtract anything in deviation to the factory fit of your car. Let it remain the way the manufacturers designed it. If u must change, change with the exact part, don't let them put another thing in place of what's supposed to be there.

I don't know what u did in AC which cost you 32k that didn't involve changing compressor, so what I will say is, make findings and know the price of something before u agree to part ways with your hard earned money.

Make sure u are using proficient mechanic, rewire and technicians to maintain ur car, it's mechanics that damage some cars for owners.

U r just starting, all d coma in your car will start giving up, work, save and repair as they show up. Continue your general maintainance and u will pull through, make out time to rest and upgrade yourself professionally or discover other sources of income.

What I can assure u is that u will make more than 70k in a month with lots of time to rest. I am still on my bed like this.

What if he gets an interview invite in a Lagos company after applying? If they eventually pick him, won't he relocate? Career can move you from state A to state B, even from country A to B.

All I'm trying to tell him is to build a career. Apply to bigger companies outside Abj

Probably the best advice he’ll get. Here in Abuja our peak day of the week is Sundays. On a good Sunday I go home with 25-30k I.e if my wife allow me work 5am till 7pm. In fact from Saturday to Sunday you can make what others struggle to make Monday to Friday.

The average daily take home here is 7-10k and this is not consistent. Some days like since this US govt issued security warnings, Abuja don turn to ghost town. You hardly make 7000 despite driving under hot sun. Make he go back to his office job and do this hustle part time.
