Is Yoruba Christianity different from Christianity elsewhere? Maybe Yoruba Islam is because of how they are treated by northern Muslims.

The liberal nature of Christians in the southwest is confused by many.

Let's be clear, Yoruba Christians are distinct from Yoruba Muslims.
These talks usually come up during election periods especially when they need Christian votes.

No true Christian marries a Muslim except in very rare cases.Here the liberal nature comes up.Ditto for a Yoruba Muslim except for the purpose of conversion.

If you are observant, you'd notice the Muslim names of our politicians deliberately written on their posters.
Why do I need to know you are a Muslim if it doesn't matter?

If we are one, why would there be an insistence on having a Christian Governor in Lagos after Fashola?

Let no one deceive you, though we relate as families, Christian faith is distinct from Islam and even our traditional religion.

Please note, anyone can attend a church regularly and not be a Christian- such is a churchgoer.
However, to be a Christian is a different thing altogether.

Summary
Christians whether in Saudi Arabia or Jerusalem are distinct.

All these I have Muslim friends is not exclusive to us Yorubas.Go to the North or even Igbos who are predominantly Christians.They also have friends or colleagues who are Muslims.
