BUHARI promised us CHANGE and everyone can clearly testify of the change. Tinubu is coming with a renewed subscription of the change called RENEWED HOPE to "continue building on the legacies of Buhari"

I saw on front page how EFCC has secured an interim forfeiture of Ike Ekweremadu's assets which includes 10 properties in Enugu, three in the United States of America (USA), two in the United Kingdom (UK), one in Lagos, nine in Dubai, and 15 located in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

This got me curious to know what actually Ike Ekweremadu did that made him wealthy enough to be able to acquire those properties and all I could see was a Lawyer that was called to the bar in 1987, became a LGA chairman in 1997 later became SSG till 2002 and won senatorial seat in 2003. Like this guy has spent 25 years as a politician and that's how he's been able to amass that much wealth from being a regular lawyer.

So when next u see Keyamo on TV sounding stupiiid just to please his pay masters, don't be offended. Man's just out there trying to secure a bigger bag.

I was shocked!!! How much is his total salary in all the positions he has held.

To think these are the ones they know. I bet there are more hidden across the nation and beyond.

I can only imagine how much wealth those who have governed states would have amassed.

Short Illustration for sensible ones on this board.

Just in 4yrs GEJ borrowed more than $50b naira..... to do what exactly and why? In his economic team, we have honourable Saint Obi as a Member.

In PMB 7yrs in power so far, Nigeria has only borrowed less down $40b naira and there are capital projects to show for it.

Oops.... Obi is now in LP, hence whatever happened while he was in PDP are no longer relevant.
And guess how much Naira the APC government (taking Tinubu's advice) printed in that 7 year period? grin

By "sensible discourse", you mean gaslighting people into believing that this administration has tried and done very well and deserves to continue for 8 more years, right??

Your idea of "sensible discourse" is to deny that the candidate you support isn't a frail sick man that cannot in any rational way bear the burden and responsibility of 200 million people.

"Sensible discourse" when you cannot even answer me as to the basic information of the candidate you support.

Where can the sensible discourse start from if you yourself are denying our own reality ?

What's my business with this Administration again? Didn't you share screenshot of my post made 5years ago against PMB?

I am supporting BAT purely based on his track records as Governor of Lagos State. You're supporting Peter Obi cos you believe he's the right man to get it right.

I never call you a Tribalist for your choice, but you won't reciprocate. What happens to fair and objective critiquing of Candidates?

Must we go low every time simply to pass message? I can't force anyone here to vote for BAT. I believe we ain't Kids here, what happens to respect and freedom of choice?

This is your first lie, how would you ask me with a straight face, " what is my business with this administration" when you basically come here every single damn day to regurgitate the governments propaganda and copy and paste it's talking point. From audio victories against terrorists, to audio contracts awarded and outright falsehoods, you are literally a government spokesperson on this thread.

You've always tried to paint the government here well while never posting the negative developments Nigerians are encountering daily.

OasisX:

Choosing a candidate to support to lead you should not be based on just one factor. There are different metrics, indices and factors a candidate should meet up to before being viable for office. Competence (ability to lead), character (relative personal moral standing and behaviour), Physical and health status, impact (legacy, effect and symbolism of candidate's victory).

I will try to very briefly explain those points and in relation to both candidates.

No 1, Impact, what is the legacy, the effect and the symbolism of Obi's candidacy? Let me start with an example, Obama winning in 2008 broke so many racial barriers in American democracy. His candidacy and presidency was highly symbolic in the sense that it healed the scars of America's dark racial past and opened doors that were previously shut to black people in America. How does this relate to Obi. As I've said severally before, an Obi win will be Earth shattering, the effects and implications of Obi winning the presidency next year would send waves across the country and continent. A whole lot of Nigerias will then understand the power they have when they unite against bad leadership and representation. Nigerians just picking a tiny party and making it the ruling party. Politicians become accountable as a result of this. Our democracy and governance improves instantly. It's impact is felt instantly.
As for the symbolism and legacy of Obi's supposed win, just like Obama, Obi winning next year's election shows that the nation has healed from the tribal divisions and deep animosity from the past. An Obi presidency symbolises that igbos are no longer looked at suspiciously or marginalized but are embraced as brother's of the nation too.

Now for Tinubu, voting Tinubu simply signals business as usual. A kakistocracy and a plutocracy. It signals a continuation of the present ruling class, this government and its components which will inevitably lead to the same results. Tinubu's candidacy doesn't bear the same symbolism which an Obi candidacy does.

Now number 2. Physical and health status: I don't need to talk too much here. You already know which candidate is younger, healthier, more energetic and capable of bearing the huge physical responsibilities of leading 200 million people. A presidents job entails Constantly travelling, Constantly attending meetings, Inspecting projects and developments across the entire country. Attending emergencies. Alacrity and sharp mental acuity. Need I go on? Between both candidates, who will handle this best? Tell yourself the truth. An 86 year old or a 61 year old.

Number 3, character. I'm sure I also don't need to talk much here. Even you cannot say Tinubu has a better moral standing and better character than Obi. One has never been a defendant in court. That is, he's never had to defend himself for any negative case whatsoever in any court while the other is an international criminal with criminal cases and indictments both home and abroad. Don't forget that Tinubu has faced corruption and embezzlement charges in Nigeria to add to his drug related and money laundering cases abroad. Small detail to note, Tinubu's physical appearance indicates a person who was or is a habitual user of drugs to which his current ailment is also an indicator to.

Competence; this is where I score both fair. This is Tinubu's only selling point. Honestly I do not know much about Tinubus governance seeing as many of us were too young when he was governor and have to rely on his owned media channels to toot his own horns. But what I don't think anyone would say is that he was a failure. But this is exactly the same with Obi. Aside politics, no one would say he was a failure. So it's very fair to say both have competence based on pedigree.

Soo now, I revert back to an earlier statement, you cannot use only one metric to support a candidate. Yes, Tinubu is competent but is he healthy enough, Is he in the right party, surrounded by the right people? What are the effects of a Tinubu presidency. He has failed the character test. He came out to tell us his entitlement to the office. He believes its his right and that is a failure of character and dignity.

Obi side by side with Tinubu is just non debatable. Why?? Go up and read my points again. When you've done that, there's no doubt left that your purpose for strongly advocating for your candidate is based on primordial sentiment which is tribalism.

You are from a state where kerosene is what it takes to win the hearts of the electorates instead of you to start your charity of liberation from home as common sense dictates but no you'd rather shift attention to the federal level where the task is much more complicated and complex for your comprehension; a classic example of misplacement of priority and lack of understanding of the maxim, politics is local.

Kwankwanso performance as a Governor, legislature, Minister plus his age puts him in a position to lead but you're pushing someone who was cursed by his people during his tenure as both Governor and economic adviser is the best bet to lead the country according to some of you who wants competence, experience and change. We also have other less known candidates who are better than the popular ones but we are to believe it's all about competence, experience and youth.
