If Nigeria make one nuclear power plant station in the next twenty years, make I bend. We have the resources to make it sef but maintaining it is the main deal. Unfortunately, Nigeria is very bad with maintenance. It's so sad |

Who is Buhari deceiving? As soon as he came in 2015 he gave the Chinese the only mini nuclear reactor Nigeria had at ABU Zaria. Now he is talking about using nuclear power to generate electricity. Where is the expertise for that when he has thrown away our chance to develop our talents? |
| Re: Nigeria Will Explore Nuclear Energy To Generate Electricity by blueAgent(m): 9:56am On Nov 08, 2022 |
Nukilia:Still not workable in Nigeria considering our non -chalant attuide to maintenance. |

Why must we pursue nuclear power which pose long term widespread harm to the environment and living things? Why can’t we look to the future and generate clean electricity? We have more than enough sunshine ... all year round... and that's free. What about wind turbines? Why are we looking back and trying to move forward with 20th century technology? Let's not talk about our maintenance culture ... but look at the security threat. Any nuclear reactor is like a huge bomb. The first thing the Russians did in Ukraine was to seize the nuclear power station. If push comes to shove... they blow it up and the fallout will be more than enough to end any opposition. With terrorist and kidnappers running rampant ... and no security... what will happen if BokonHaram storm the plant and make demands?... can the FG say no? If the Europe was blessed with our climate ... would they be seeking nuclear power? With the cost of this project ... what is it's lifespan? ... what is the cost of maintenance? Would the revenue even cover the cost of operation?.. or would the FG have to be taking loans? Is it worth the risk?... and would it be able to generate enough income to maintain itself and service th3 loan? Everything comes with a price ... is it worth it? |

The built the Ajeokuta steel plant u till date it has not produced a single metal billet. 2, The lunched our site satellite into space. up till date no benefit from it, and the satellite is currently missing. Yu are all fools to support Russia and hope for good things from them. |

Nigeria is the craziest country I know,. President is ending his tenure and still in campaign mode "I will" all the nuclear power plants will be useless because the Disco are still rejecting power despite the small amount being generated, why will they not reject more power then? We have office of the president not paying power bill Ministries not paying power bill Police, Military all owning billions in light bills Disco then only sending power to high paying customers and leaving large part of the country in darkness despite having the means to accept power to send to them. SHORT TERM The solution to Nigeria's power problem is simple "GOVERNMENT SHOULD PAY FOR POWER" Cancel the whole Goodluck Jonathan stupid privatisation and pay whatever compensation their lawsuit will bring. Create a better system of distribution and force everyone to use Prepaid "including the office of the president" LONG TERM Cancel fuel subsidy and replace it with power subsidy, meaning everyone gets power for free. "it will be far cheaper than fuel subsidy cost and you are sure labor will never protest it because everyone stands to benefit" Pull funds from the excess crude account and establish a 200MW power station in each states. Lagos and all states close to the coastal area will use wind power. Oil rich states will focus on gas turbine the north on dams. 200 x 36 = 7,200 MW then ensure that the total preinstalled 18,000 MW is repaired and everything is working. We can establish 25,000 MW in 2 years. That is how the developed countries developed. We celebrate mediocracy here in Nigeria. Look at the presidential candidates and you will weep for this country. |

andrewegbuna:We have remote areas in Lagos. There many of such in coastal areas of Lagos in Epe , Ikorodu and Badagry and those places are sparsely populated yet cheap to move the electricity to the huge markets in Lagos and Ogun. It is far more expensive to move it from farther locations to where the market is |

Why on earth are we going into nuclear. We never harness Sun and water and wind energy. Just another abandoned project and money pit to siphon money from the masses. Utilize and implement the easier solutions that starting nuclear. |

denitro:Na e I dey talk. We never utilize Sun ( Sun Panels) , wind and even water ( how many dams we get ? ) we what to start nuclear. I disagree with you on removing fuel unless you are giving the money directly into the hands of the masses like a N2000 monthly cheque for all those earning a certain amount monthly removing fuel subsidy will start riots . Giving everyone power is not possible. As most people are invested in inverters. |

fxexperts:ILLITERATE DONKEY. WHERE DID I SAY WE HAVE A NUCLEAR POWER PLANT? DO YOU KNOW THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A NUCLEAR REACTOR AND A NUCLEAR PLANT? LOW IQ. TYPE IN PROPER ENGLISH. ARE YOU A SCHOOL DROPOUT? I DON'T DEBATE DROPOUTS. YOUR INTELLECTUAL LEVEL IS ABYSMAL. IN FACT ANYONE THAT HASN'T GRADUATED WITH HONOURS, FROM A UNIVERSITY OR POLYTECHNIC, SHOULD STAY OFF THIS TOPIC. STEP BELOW THAT IN YOUR SENSIBILITY AND UTTERANCES, AND I REGARD YOU AS AN ANIMAL, SINCE THAT IS HOW YOU REGARD YOURSELF. COMPRENDE? |
