Yes I admit that I have wahala grin but it doesn’t change the fact that you’re missing the bigger picture here. You’re saying it’s too expensive yet you’re not taking into consideration the functionality, durability and usefulness of the product. Even if you’re not a vehicle owner do you know that the power bank feature of this device can recharge your home and mobile gadgets for a full week without dying? As in you, your wife and your kids gadgets all together at once? Oyibo’s built it for emergencies and camping trips. Unlike most of we Nigerians those people actually value their time, lives and sanity.

There are different calibers of Uber drivers in Nigeria today.

1. Those that drive for others and remit on rentals

2. Those that drive for a partner on a hire purchase contract

3. Those that drive for themselves full time with their own vehicles

4. Those that drive in their spare time or when they are off duty from other jobs or engagements

In my own opinion, I’d give it to Nos 3 & 4 on the list above to be the ideal users of this product. If you’re on a rental or HP contract then of course there’s no need for you to really have one since you don’t own a vehicle of your own which you use to hustle yet.

A fleet manager can have a unit personally for their business but in my own opinion it’s not really effective because say he/she has 5 vehicles on Uber working and remitting every week, if per adventure one of them breaks down with a flat tyre or dead battery at an odd hour in an odd location, will the driver expect their manager to now carry the only power station out of the office/home and start driving to locate them in a remote area just to inflate the tyre or jumpstart the engine? That’s why it’s practical for each vehicle and driver to have its own unit.

But fashi all I’ve been ‘ranting’ about above, what I’m really trying to let you understand is that not all Uber drivers are on the same level as you both physically, financially or mentally .

If you can fight off agberos, criminals and lastma agents at a time of emergency or pay them off with humongous sums of cash as fines the next guy driving might not be able to do so . . . He is the one that needs such a device.

If you can use your mouth to put on your tires valve to ‘blow’ in air to pump up a deflated tyre don’t think the next driver’s lungs has the capacity to do the same . . . He’s the one that needs such a device.

If you’re sango, god of thunder that can ‘zap’ a dead battery with electricity to recharge it enough to kickstart your engine please don’t feel the next Uber pilot is like you in that regard, he’s the one who needs such a device.

Because you feel comfortable jacking up your vehicle, removing your deflated tyre and rolling it to a vulcanizer half a kilometer away to patch and pump it while believing your vehicle will remain safe and secure at the spot you parked it when you return doesn’t mean the next fellow has the same morale to trust his environment or luck as you do.

because you can not work for a year and set aside N100k towards handling unfortunate eventualities that may occur to your vehicle during your hustle doesn’t mean the other Uber driver you usually ‘shine teeth’ with has the same poor money management skills as you do

I can go on and on but I’d stop here because if at this point, you’re yet to grasp the idea I’m spinning for you then it’s truly a pity and it tells me a whole lot about your character as a person. It makes me understand that you have and will never consider paying for a comprehensive insurance on your personal home or vehicle.

Once again, if you know you can’t afford it then please leave others who can to obtain theirs , whenever you’re in such an emergency you can beg them to drive down to your location with their own unit to assist you. Even with your jump-starter cables most drivers will still not want to assist you with a dead battery but whoever has this device in their vehicle will not be afraid to even help a 911 tipper to jumpstart their engine.

Gentlelife you don’t need to respond to this post, just read it and have a rethink about the way you make some choices concerning your well-being in the future at least for your family’s sake.

Come on get out, ignored for life.

This Indriver, seems bidding is not allowed again ooh... Once you bid you won't be picked no matter how close you're to the rider... It's tiring

How una take dey carry am pass.
Bidding on indrive is not generally advisable as a driver.
Indrive passengers are now wised up, they are understanding the app rapidly, so, they will continue to reject higher biddings to what they (riders) are proposing.
Biddings could only work at late night, and all of us should know why.
When I see a ride that the fare has obviously been tampered with and passenger bids low for it, I ignore while chilling where I parked.
There is no way you will not get good order where you are parked, no matter how long you've been waiting.
A driver who's bidding for rides will get frustrated cos it will continuously be declined, cos other drivers are rushing the fare like flies.
I no dey even bother myself on indrive or do fastest finger stuff, my ride will come for sure and it will be easy and peaceful.
If I see order with low fare and long distance destination, I would rather pick it and accept it like that than bidding, and that depends on where I am located at that moment.
As a boss wey you be, abeg dey use indrive. You will see the difference.
Maybe na because me I still dey have that feeling of a newbie sha, cos I was not making huge gross during my bolt time, that's why I'm contented with what I've been making on indrive.
Imagine someone wey dey gross 50k-60k on bolt on full day work, make he/she come settle for 35k gross on full day work on indrive, him go dey pissed off like what is this 35k gross for?
But we wey we no like wahala, we are okay with 25k gross (18k net), 30k gross (22k net), 35k gross (26k net) on indrive on full day work.
Na so I see am, boss.
Indrive makes sense, if na the bidding wey dey make you disregard indrive, abeg no dey do bidding again.
Just a daily target is the way to run indrive.
Cos as people dey crave for this bolt still dey surprise me, I no go lie. Cos na this same indrive I don dey use for almost 3 months without bolt and I'm not having any regret at all.
It is well sha.
Much respect, boss.

Good Afternoon All, I just bought my car and done with my Indrive registration and Bolt ( remain to go for bolt inspection), have registered for my Lagos state driver license too.

I work at VI ( Monday to Friday) and I stay at ijegun and I have people I carry to work weekdays ( I mk like 4k daily during weekdays)

My issue now is I don't know Lagos route very well and am afraid of those Lasma people. Am thinking of working only Sundays for now as police and Lasma hardly stay on the road on Sundays.

SUGGESTIONS NEEDED
1- Best route for newbie to start from?
2- Route to Avoid by any means necessary?
3- How to know long distance booking in INDRIVE when a rider request?
4- Key things to consider in order to avoid problems on the road?
5 - which area should I focus more in mainland

Personally , na me get car I just need extra income to the use maintain my car and pay some few bills. Considering I also drive to work and carry people too.

6-Can Sunday work earning be enough for me?
7- how to know short distance request on INDRIVE
Please any suggestions will be appreciated alot. To help me as I start this weekend.
THANKS

I got the brief for the full program today. The course content looks interesting and of course demanding.

PLD starts 9am to 3pm. A friend suggested I give my car out to someone to be delivering to me since I won't be having time but I declined.

Even if I work from 5pm to 10pm for 5 days, I will earn more than the 25k the person will be delivering and my car will still be in good condition.
I will check the outline out..

My only advise for you is to only drive on Sundays on bolt, don't bother about any other apps as requests are abundant on Sundays and I believe bolt should have enough surge to encourage you to earn more.

Bosses, I hail o!

I am considering getting a car (skoda octavia 2010) to start this Uber/bolt/indriver biz and I have a few questions that I haven't found answers to after randomly going through the pages here. Questions are:

1. Shey the car good for this business? Won't make sense to spend the bulk of my money fixing it intermittently. Also, would the car qualify for their requirements?

2. I know the best is to do this business personally. However, what's the estimated weekly income if I get a partner?

3. What are the basic tips a newbie should take note of?

I don't mind if you just drop links to the answers.

Accepted a trip from.total filling station Sura to Surulere.Babs animashaun str.

Rider was telling me to use 3rd MB... But he later said anyways, use your map so you won't say I made you took a traffic route --- as if he knew what was happening. Had I known I'd listened to him ooh...

Got to Marina the route was blocked, made some turnings now way. Finally had to turn to join 3MB, come see traffic Carter bridge was totally blocked all the way from Coastain to 3mb.

We made another reverse, na ikorodu Rd I finally followed to get to destination.

A trip that was supposed to take 35min turned into 2hrs ++ rider added 1k to the 3k aggred price.

I got home all my laps was arching like who just learnt driving.

Nah . . . car dealerships are the last people who need such a product because they always have lots of spare batteries in their possession and a vulcanizer is usually stationed outside/near their lots.

The target market for this product are people involved in transportation business in one form or another hence my bringing it here to show you guys.

You just think back and remember how many times your battery had failed you in the past and how people did ‘shaKara’ for you with their own grin or how one of your tires always needed ‘topping up’ of air once every few days due to one small reason or another.

So far you’re involved in transportation business it must have happened to you once before and there’s a huge probability that it will happen to you again. If you were really frustrated and hopeless because of your battery or tyre at one time in the past you’d understand why it’s a good idea to invest in having this product somewhere in your vehicle as you hustle.

there’s this particular brand of PEACE OF MIND that it gives its owner while driving on the road wink

Abeg, how much is battery again?
How much is power bank?
And how much is USB tyre inflatable device?
How much is 2nd spare tyre?

Isnt this thing too expensive for the work it is expected to be doing?

First and foremost you’d need to keep it in mind that CAT is a long time recognized premium specialty brand. , they manufacture mostly niche professional tools and gadgets. The product I’m showing you was manufactured in and imported from the UK. The quality of the product is top of the line and it will last you for ages with normal use.

Solite batteries cost about N25k, but to buy a brand like Trane or Everstart battery you must hold at least N40k. CAT batteries guarantee you 10 years of use. There are still better and more expensive brands that will last 10 times longer than the Solite battery in the market but most of our people usually buy what’s cheapest even though it could end up exploding and burning up their vehicles while they sleep at night.

You speak of power banks, I myself have used more than 10 different power banks since they started being available in the market. We all know how long they last especially when we are buying brands like NewAge or Oraimo. Some even cheaper ones cleverly put in sand bags or ‘dud’ batteries inside their packs just to increase the product’s weight and deceive the buyers. There are mobile power banks in the market that last for donkey years and are rugged too. It’s still the price that scares people off notwithstanding that the premium brand won’t disappoint or explode even after donkey years of continuous use.

Lets not even go into details concerning all these yeye Chinese mass produced cigarette lighter plug in type of tyre inflators. I’ve bought two of them before for between N10k to N15k each at different times and they didn’t even last up to 2 years before just deciding not to function again, and I’m a very careful person. I just took it out of the boot to use one day and it didn’t answer me. That’s how I was left stranded. They mostly spoil in silence and disappoint you when you need them the most.

Then about tyres, you know you can’t compare Chinese tyres to premium ones. Double king is in the market so is Michelin. They are both tyres but their prices, pedigree and durability are miles apart. With N25k you will get a new double king tyre but you must hold at least N60k to get just 1 new Michelin tyre today.

CAT products are built tough and precise to guarantee that they last for years even with the roughest of use. This product I’m showing you here might be expensive . . . Yes, is agree, but it’s a premium product with a bulletproof guarantee for years upon years of faithful usage.

Look at the products below and their prices, I’m sure if I purchase these ones tomorrow and bring them to your notice you’d shrug your shoulders and scratch your head wondering if I’m not aware of Solite and Oraimo products that can be found easily in the market meanwhile the right type of consumer with a discerning eye for detail and quality will immediately rush to buy the CAT brand knowing fully well that the rewards are lined up to be reaped in the long run.

Abi ooooh. Omoh, to dey post self no easy oooh. I hail all the bosses that always create out time to post, comment, advise, educate and exchange words on a regular here. Meehhhn, 1000 gbosa for them.
However, I just chilled down on posting for a reason jare. I think I told SamuelTaiwo when he called me and asked why I no dey post like before. grin
Una dey try for here, I swear.
But that one no mean say things no dey happen oh.
We be upcoming artist unlike majority of you wey be car owners. grin
Me self wan be a car owner so that my hustle will be strictly based on my own terms, and no more remittance to anyone. Make focus come strong cos this hustle na means to an end, my business dey my head like dreadlocks, na there gangan I dey go.
However, this last Sunday was my highest earning on indrive (38k+) with 4k offline trip.
Yesterday which was on Monday, I made 18.8k on the app and made 7k offline first thing in the morning. Check the time I did my 1st trip and my last trip. I just went home straight after the last trip cos I no too like Monday hustle.
I have introduced indrive to some of my padis and I'm giving dem the scope to run indrive peacefully (courtesy of all of Una bosses here).
Cos some of dem don dey get their accounts blocked and dem dey ask me how I dey do on bolt, na so I yarn dem say bolt wey be say it's over 2 months I smelt it, say na indrive be my cruise now. Bolt ké? Even my period Don expire on bolt, wey dem want make I come do inspection again. Inspection kó, detention ni. grin
I haill all of una oooh. cheesy
Without you people, I don't think I will be among people who would come out and lecture people on e-hailing hustle, cos na you people trained me and I am making you all proud, abi? cheesy
Much respect, boss.

Una remember the vacuum cleaner I posted here that someone forgot in my car booth?
I have returned the item to the owner this past Sunday. I just decided to put it in my booth that anytime a trip takes me there (Sule Olusesi street at lekki), I would call him and return it.
It was that same Sunday that a trip took me there. una see how God works? cheesy
I just called him and thank God his number went through immediately. He appreciated it cos he was surprised I brought the stuff after over a month. Na so I zoomed of with a sweet order back to mainland. This past Sunday sweet well well. grin cool
