Comfortable lead is subjective and will depend on the number of mail in ballots that are yet to be counted. If the number of mail in ballots are substantial, they can swing votes, and counting them can take days.

Voting machines or any machine that reads paper has high failure rate. Ever since I started following elections, that has been the case, whether it's hanging chad like in George Bush election or misalignment.of.ballot etc
