According to Florida exit polls, 65% of voters said they did not want Trump to run for president in 2024, while 53% said they don’t want DeSantis to run in 2024. But, nationally, Trump has the backing of 50%+ Republicans on a potential 2024 run.. |

| Re: American Politics Thread: Trump Is The 47th President! by PDPGuy(op): 3:54pm On Nov 09, 2022 |
Ladyhippolyta88:Exactly. But for the Supreme Court’s abortion ruling, the Dems would have lost 60-70 seats in the House due to the 40-yr high inflation record. Even if the Republicans manage to have a 20-30 seat majority in the House, it doesn’t do their chances in 2024 any massive favors, unless the US economy soars to an average of 12% unemployment rate and/or inflation gets even worse |

They all have one thing in common. Who can guess: President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated eight Nigerian Americans on their victory in the United States midterm elections. In Georgia State, Segun Adeyina (D-House District 110), Gabe Okoye(D-House District 102), Solomon Adesanya (D-House District 43), Tish Naghise (D-House District 68), and Phil Olaleye (D-House District 59) won their legislative seats as State Representatives in their Districts. Similarly, Carol Kazeem (D) won the Pennsylvania State Representative in District 159 while Esther Agbaje (D-F-L) was re-elected as Minnesota State Representative in District 59B. Dr Adeoye Owolewa (D) was also re-elected to the U.S. House of Representatives (Shadow Representative) in Washington D.C. Buhari, who prayed for their successful tenure in office, thanked them for their invaluable support and partnerships, over the years, with groups affiliated with the ideals and objectives of Nigerians in Diaspora associations in the United States. The president also restated his unflinching support for every Nigerian excelling at home and abroad. According to him, compatriots who succeed in good causes are assets to the nation and the continent, noting that their contributions will always be remembered and celebrated. |

The painful thing is that compared to other countries America's inflation was better. The GQP kept shouting inflation but had no solution to combat it. What a shame ![]() |

My advice to Democrats and I am glad some people are already saying it. Continue to court young voters bring out policies they love, continue to court women and minorities bring out policies they like as well. Run on them ensure they all come out to vote. Also appeal to a reasonable percentage of white voters too. Your party will be winning very well. |

| Re: American Politics Thread: Trump Is The 47th President! by adamusuleiman1: 4:25pm On Nov 09, 2022 |
PDPGuy:Republicans will line behind Trump after he bullies a few of them. I have always followed this thread and we have been hearing from Republicans about how the party will dump Trump if he loses the last presidential election. A particular poster here was very vocal about how he would be dumped. Well Trump is now obviously a big problem to the majority non-extreme GOP. He is now stuck like a leach on the party. Due to Trump's love for the spotlight and his big ego, I would be shocked if he doesn't announce his intention to run. |

PDPGuy:Many people will see that while Trump might win a primary, he will be a disaster at a General election. His endorsements show it already Many regular Republicans are very comfortable with DeSantis and not with Trump, his loose talks and legal troubles |
